How to search a list of movies that do not have release year yet?

A lot of movies are casted and almost finish filming, but unless they have release date, you can not get their list through advanced search. If is possible to create "Unknown/Not Released" entry in Advanced title search "Release Date" options.

Putting the "!" in front of release_date tells advanced search to search for feature films that do not have a release date between 1890 and 2020, in other words, feature films without a release date.

I believe that either Emperor or bluesmanSF came up with this trick and posted it to the original IMDb Help Board.

I saw it there, and may have repeated it, but it wasn't me that figured that out...you'd have to look for someone smarter...likely Emperor!

bluesmanSF, propagating a good idea is almost as good as originally posting it.

By the way, this trick also works for finding people (names) without recorded birth dates:

Not me, although I am a big fan of the ! switch I have never used it in this context, which is well worth storing away for future use.

I vaguely remember someone on the IMDb Help Board suggesting automating the not operator (AKA the ! switch). Have we suggested this on IMDb's get satisfaction site?
