"Poliziottesco" is a specifically Italian subgenre of police procedurals. Applying it to Indian crime thrillers does not work as they do not follow the template.

"Poliziottesco" has its roots in Italian heist films, it was also strongly influenced by rough-edged American police thrillers of the late 1960s and early 1970s. This subgenre generally used political conflicts and violence for largely apolitical tension-building and cathartic or emotional purposes. The genre's protagonists often simultaneously displayed both right-wing and left-wing views, and protagonists were often working class while villains were often wealthy right-wing conservatives.
Though poliziotteschi films have been viewed by some critics as condemning a "liberal" or "weak" judiciary system as ineffectual in its treatment of criminals, the genre also suggests a more general distrust of authority, whether left-wing or right-wing, by portraying right-wing law enforcement, politicians and businessmen as hopelessly corrupt and manipulative.
In addition to the above wiki-quotes:
A movie genre can not be limited to a nation or a country specifics; cinematography tends to preserve no boundary demarcation. Sometimes a set of objective reasons may result in a limited classification, e.g. noir genre. Film noir period is generally regarded as extending from the early 1920s to the late 1950s; and nowadays we operate the Neo-noir subgenre. So, even if we'd have reasons to separate Poliziottesco to the 1960s-1970s, there is no good point to classify a new genre since it was invented earlier. This is why, as I think, there are some keywords suggested for IMDb to separate the specific plots of poliziottesco films, such as:
