There were some short films made when I was a kid, and stupidly, someone made IMDB pages for them. Now, I am a professional, and I would really like these deleted as they are useless, and didn't even get finished. They weren't uploaded anywhere, and to be honest, do not even exist, all copies are gone!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5293480/?ref_=sn - This was never made.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4126564/?ref_=sn - And this is so stupid, we filmed a few scenes with the handycam and then abandoned the project, but I believe a page was made because it was going to be "released" but never was finished.

I have tried countless times to get some help with this, but have never heard anything back. I think, due to my severe privacy concern, I am going to have to take this further, and possibly have a conversation with my manager and lawyer, as this is a serious thing, and I will make a formal complaint if something is not done.

The false information is making IMDb look bad, and I am sure they do not want this for their company..

I really do hope that I at least get a reply, or I will be taking this a step further.

The short film Crazed - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5918078/?ref_=sn - is fine, but I was an actor, nothing more. How would I prove this to you?

Dillon.

Dillon: I don't work for IMDb, and I was opposed to the idea of lowering IMDb's standards to allow anything uploaded to YouTube to be accepted into the database. But that was more than four years ago and there's not much that can be done about it now.

On the other hand, before you plan any legal action, you may want to try one more time to request deletion of some of the titles. To do this, you would submit the form at http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/report_titledeletion. I have some suggestions about how to go about this:

Don't mention, as a reason for deletion, that you don't want to have the film listed, or it embarrasses you, or it damages your career. IMDb just does not care about those issues.

Don't mention, as a reason for deletion, that the film no longer exists (unless it was never released). If a film was ever released, IMDb will keep it in the database even if it no longer exists. (Think of all the films from the silent era that are now lost and have not been seen in decades; IMDb still wants to include those.)

Do mention, as a reason for deletion, any of the following issues, if they are true:
  • The film was never made;
  • The film was never completed; or
  • The film was never released, not even on the Internet.
Those are good reasons for a film to be removed from the database.

Do check whether the film is available on YouTube before requesting deletion. A few days ago, someone asked to have a credit deleted, saying that the film they worked on was never even released on the Internet, yet it was in fact available for viewing on YouTube, so that didn't help their argument.

I hope this helps.
