It's been 30 days and nothing yet. We made significant changes to our film in Feb 2015 and just had our theatrical release. Also, our film copyright is 2015, which we need to have reflected on IMDB.

Here is the reference # for the release date changes:
150401-194102-721000

Thank you so much!

Sylvie: Please post your last full data submission here on this message board. You can copy it out of the receipt you would have received from IMDb by e-mail immediately after sending it in. Some of the regulars on the board may review it and, if they can, they may provide suggestions as to how to improve the submission to get it included in the database.

The date on the Title is not the copyright date; it is the date of first release, and as such it will remain as 2014.

This is officially documented in the Years and roman numerals section of the Submission Guide: Title Formats, which states:
The year in ()'s should be the year of first public screening of the title. For TV- series this is the broadcast year of the first episode/pilot. For movie titles this year is either the year of general release or of a festival presentation if earlier (note that closed screenings for the crew or the media/buyers/sellers or test screenings of the unfinished product for marketing reasons do not count as public screenings).
There is a separate section for Copyright Holder in the Box Office and Business  group. If you want the copyright year recorded you should enter it there along with the Holder.

Thank you, both. David, I understand the year in parenthesis refers to the date of first release, but given the fact that we made substantial changes to the film in 2015 and remastered it, we feel we should consider February 2015 as the date of the first release.

Gromit, here are the changes copied and pasted below as you suggested. This is from the confirmation email from April 1rst.

If someone can please make sure this gets updated, my team and I would really appreciate it.

Sylvie

Sylvie: I don't know how substantial the changes to Love Thy Nature (2014) would have to be for it to be considered a new film, but they would probably have to be very substantial. If you want to explain how extensive the changes are, I would recommend doing so in this thread, where an IMDb staffer can evaluate them if they review this discussion. Without a full description of the changes, the IMDb staff might wonder if you were just trying to make your film look more recent (2015 instead of 2014).

Second, if the 2015 version is "essentially a new film", then the 2014 film still ought to be listed in IMDb. After all, you showed it to the public at seven film festivals in three countries, which is more of a release than many other films listed in IMDb have received. Thus, instead of deleting all the 2014 release dates, you would want to submit the 2015 version as a new film to the database.

Gosh, having it be split in 2 films on IMDB can be confusing... I'll run this by my team and decide whether we want to move forward with this.
I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much.

Sylvie: Just to be clear, I am not recommending that you list this project as two separate films on IMDb. More likely it should be listed as one title with a 2014 date. Listing it as two separate films is only a second choice in case the IMDb staff agrees that the current version should be treated as a different film.

Hi Sylvie -

To follow-up on the correct information gromit82 has already mentioned, we list titles on the site with the title year that the title was first screened in.  Since "Love Thy Nature" was first screened in 2014, this title year will need to remain listed on the page, if the title was re-released in 2015, you can then add that information to the Release dates section here.

It is rare that a second title page should be listed, this circumstance is only viable when there have been very significant changes made from the first release to the new version.  If there have been significant changes made, you will need to list them in detail here and our staff can take a look.

If you want to see what a title looks like that has been released in different years with different versions, I would recommend viewing the title page for Apocalypse Now.

Dear Michelle,

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Thanks to you and to gromit82, I'm clear on how to proceed. My team and I decided to keep the same title and follow the lead of Apocalypse Now.

So, I would like to keep the info of all the festivals on 2014 and therefore my request for deleting them should be ignored. I've tried "reversing" the deletion of entries 150401-194102-721000 and 150401-190336-682000 but nothing seemed to happen...

Would you kindly make sure that my "delete" request for those festival entries gets cancelled?

Thanks again,

All the best,

Sylvie
