There is a British actress called Pamela Reed, who worked on TV in the 60s. The American actress Pamela Reed has two of British Pamela's credits, but British Pam does not have a page of her own. How do I split the credits? Can I create a new Actress page with only 2 credits and no other info?

David: Here is how I would recommend fixing this. The American Pamela Reed should become Pamela Reed (I) while the British one will become Pamela Reed (II). (Usually the roman numerals are assigned in chronological order, but in this case the American Pamela Reed is a lot more famous and has a lot more credits than the British one, even though she started her career later, so I think in this case it makes sense to give the British one the roman numeral II.)

Go to the Pamela Reed page at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0715622/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Actress Credits line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, select "Correct" in the drop-down box to the left of the British actress's two credits, "Hereward the Wake" and "ITV Play of the Week". Also, near the end of the page, at the bottom of the list of credits, there will be a gray bar. At the right of this gray bar, there will be a checkbox labeled "Show name?" Check that box. Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will see that the actress name for the "Hereward the Wake" and "ITV Play of the Week" credits is editable. Add a roman numeral (II) in both places so that they will say:
Reed, Pamela (II)

Select the radio button for "actress" below each of them, and also check the box for each of them labeled "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change". Scroll down and click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, below each of the credits you are correcting, there will be an Explanation box. In that box, explain that this credit belongs to the British actress Pamela Reed, not the American one, and that the British actress's credits need to be moved to a separate page under a different roman numeral. If you have any links as proof that the two actresses are different people, please provide it in the Explanation box. Give the same Explanation for both of the credits you are correcting.

Also, for each credit, you will get a warning that says, "We have these people with similar names ..." followed by a list of names. Each time you see that, select the last option in the list: "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Reed, Pamela (II)'." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, the credits you are correcting should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Allow a few days for the corrections to go through. Good luck!
