I saw a Christmas Film as a child - It was late 1970s/early 1980s, The plot went something like this:
There was a large Department store with multiple levels (floors) and next to this was a small toy shop where an old man? made wooden dolls/puppets/stuffed toys (cant remember).
At night when the shop closed the toys would become alive and they need to get to the top of the department store on Christmas eve to get to Santa' Sack before Santa flies off arround the world to do his deliveries. The toys have to overcome some obstacles, one of which was an evil witch who tries to stop them going up the escalators to the next floor up and so on.
I saw this once and always hoped it would come on again each Christmas - but it never did. It could have been a made for TV movie but I remembered it being pretty convincing.
Would love to see it again .....

Story seems similar to Quincy's Quest.

With the title you gave me, from what I have seen on the Internet - Thats it! - Thank you for putting a name on this old memory in my head! It seems I'm not the only one who remember this and wants to get a copy but unfortuanately it looks like it was never sold on DVD (or VHS?).

Well, a lot of these older movies that never got an official video release are available for purchase online as bootleg DVDs that might or might not be playable on your DVD player (e.g., all-region PAL DVDs). But the IMDb understandably frowns on us posting links to bootleg releases, even when, as in this case, the chances of there ever being a legitimate release are probably virtually nil. But with a little googling, you should be able to find it on your own . . .

However, if you know something to be in the public domain (not necessarily the case with this one), then go ahead in share a URL to the best quality version of the complete content available.

Hmmm. This is a 1979 movie, so it's probably not in the public domain yet, but if John's DVD player will play all-region PAL DVDs, and he googles QUINCY'S QUEST DVD BUY, he should have some success . . .
