How can I change my IMDb ID with a previous one that I had? When I try to change it, the message says "ID has already been taken by another user", but it is not another user, it is my old ID. This is important to me because that ID that I mistakenly changed was my real name.

Unfortunately, IMDB won't let you do this, even if it was your old ID.

Yes, I'm afraid Emperor is correct.  If a username has been used by any account, it
cannot be used for another account, regardless of whether the account
has been deleted.

Michelle, my old ID isn't from another account of mine (I don't have other IMDb accounts and I never had), it is the previous ID from my current account. In my current account I changed my ID and now I can't have the old one back because it is treated as "ID has already been taken by another user".

I think that IMDb should consider fixing this issue or at least warning people that they can't return to their previous ID-s once they changed them.

Hi Adrian - yes, unfortunately, even if it was your account that used the old ID you still won't be able to change it back to that ID, sorry.

I also encourage you to post your feedback about user ID's as a new idea in the community.

Thank you very much, Michelle, for your suggestion! I'm new to this IMDb support site and it didn't cross my mind to post about this subject as a new idea! That's what I'll do!
