Im on about my 1.30 postibg quota, not surw if I added it in edit. Pretty annoying how rippling river is posting anti palestinian posts 24/7 and nothing happens!

Pip: I don't know what your IMDb username is so I couldn't identify which posts were yours. I did, however, find some posts by Rippling_River on the Politics message board.

The best advice I can give you is that if you want to post on the Gaza situation more than once every 90 seconds, you could find some other non-IMDb message board on which to do so. Not even the message boards for movies are a core service of IMDb, and the message board for politics is much, much less relevant than that.

Report him, use other; explain the situation.

Now put him on ignore.

There are no other options. Do not feed the trolls.

IMDB forums are not moderated and are use-at-your-own-risk. You can either ignore the troll using the ignore tool you are given; or you can stop using the forums and stick with the main functions of IMDB: the database listings

I could go into more detail explaining why this is; but you can already search these forums and find that answer.

The simple truth is you only have two options with IMDB: ignore the trolls (that's what ignore is for); or don't use the forums.

As for your posting timer; it will go down over time. If you 1. don't troll and 2. don't fill up the reports with extra reports, do it once and move on

I haven't had a posting timer delay in years for the forums. I don't even recall the last time I had one; than again my IMDB account is at least 9 years old

Regarding your posting quota.....90 seconds is such an inconvenience? Perhaps that is part of the reason you got it in the first place?

You don't. They've got better things to do (maintain a database of film information) than preside over arguments on message boards.

I'd suggest, as mentioned above, and as the staff suggests, you use the site for its core features and take chat arguments somewhere else, off site.

The Help Area regarding moderation of the boards says:

I want to complain about the way the message boards are moderated!
We are sorry to hear that. However, if you disagree with the policies outlined in our Terms & Conditions of Use document or are otherwise dissatisfied with the contents or operation of our message boards, we suggest that you stick to the core functions of the site and stay away from the boards.

I don't know how you think you know nothing has happened but his/her quota may have also been raised and he/she might have had authentication removed and was able to re-authenticate (for now) and you wouldn't know it. But, staff says that such are done at the hand of staff. So, someone seems to think (or rather, know) that this is just a flame war and perceives you to have some culpability.

Personally, I'd recommend putting the other person on ignore and stay away, for a while, from the areas where heated discussions take place, but use the actual database as needed.

Pip: Have you ever heard of the saying "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"? If you demanded that IMDb staff investigate another user for their posts on the message boards, they would probably review your postings as well. You haven't exactly been expressing moderate opinions yourself. http://www.imdb.com/user/ur54081170/
