You can't post on the Help board anymore, right? You're basically forced to join a new community on another website. So I wanted to voice my opinion on the matter, and the only way to do that was to post that opinion on one of the random threads over there.

Lo and behold, that message gets deleted and my posting quota gets bumped up to 20 minutes!!

IMDb does NOT like to be criticized. I wouldn't be surprised if this post disappears too, but I'm taking screenshots this time.

I don't know what your post said and if or how it violated our content guidelines, but posts in the Help board, new or old, can still be reported by users and are still subject to our content guidelines. If you posted an off-topic response on an existing thread, it was probably reported by someone and our moderators remove it.

By the way, there's no need to post on a random thread: the change was announced on the board itself so there are several existing threads where comments are still active and where you can post, such as this one.

Say, I've read a lot of your replies and you've been very helpful in a lot of cases -- would you mind checking out my question and lending your expertise?

This one will hopefully be kept for entertainment purposes. Screenshot...that's funny.

Though, not as funny as 20 minute PQ!...nice work! That's normally hard to get!

Is it really! Well, IMDb did end up with a praise thread for it.

If i give you a link to the deleted post, can you use your admin tools to see it? I think this is it:

http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000041/n...

Then you can tell me exactly how I violated content guidelines. Except for being off-topic, then someone can report me and the post be deleted.

But why should that bump up my PQ? 20 minutes! That means someone took what I said personally... touched a nerve... provoked a little ire.

and the whole point of posting on a random thread was because the board WAS/IS closed, and I just found it very... strange... that IMDb would come over here instead of bring this board to everyone over there (or something).

Off topic is enough. If you want to voice your opinion without using this for, which no one has forced you to do, you could use the thread linked for you or the Soapbox board.

The site is phasing out the Help board. It, in the mean time will allow current conversations be completed. But posting off topic rants will foul up the plan. It's clear they don't want you to start up with that type of shenanigans.
