I cancelled my account however there is a charge for 16.87 on my credit card posted on September 19, 2013. How do I ensure that I am not charged again? Jennifer Reed

The short answer is, cancel before the renewal date, before any new charges occur.

Staff won't discuss private matters here on a public message board as discussing it with you will lead to discussion of personal information. Hi there (dated 30 March 2014)

I signed up for the free trial for a Pro account - and IMDB has NOT given me free access to trial this subscription. The website and Help FAQs loop in a circle and do not let me cancel the free trial subscription as it states on the website - there is no Cancel button, only a Renew subscription button to trick people into subscribing to a service that they don't want. I strongly suggest that you ensure that my credit card will not be charged for a service I have not received, as this is ILLEGAL.

I would strongly discourage people from using the IMDb Pro trial membership since thre are so manyh comments on the messag boards, which I personally an validate as true in my case, that IMDb continues to charge for months after you cancel your IMDb Pro membership -- even during th trial period.  Then, because you cancelled, you can't access the contact screens -- nasty Catch 22

That would only be true if you "deleted" your account instead of "canceling" the Pro subscription. If you'd have "canceled" only you'd still having a working free account and could still contact staff.

Also, you're wrong about not being able to contact them. If you try to use the contact form while not logged in, you're offered this "special form" http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/login_pr... to contact staff.

I totally agree, IMDB have been taking a monthly debit of £14.59 from my account for over 4 years and l still can't access my account or contact them.

Then you need to contact staff as noted in this thread, above, and as indicated in replies to the numerous other comments you've posted.

l have just looked into the fees you have illegally charged me over the years and it amounts to over £1000.

I have had the same experience of being charged for several months after using the free trial for a few days.  I closed th IMDb pro account during the trail, but keep getting charged, and many of the IMDb contact pages are not available unless your are a IMDb pro member.  So while they know I am not a member well enough to foreclose access to their contact information, they do keep charging me for the service.

thank you soooo much bluemanSF for replying, it makes me feel like finally someone is reading all this,, thank you..but i did go to the "special form" and i did fill  one out but my question was kind of similar to the questions on the forum. .Plus i did go to as you said in your previous post : "contacting staff directly"  i did go there but when i click the "contact us" I click on it and it just gets me straight to the  imdbpro to log in ( but once again i cant log in ) .. and i already deleted and cancelled  my account they even say when i put it in the system in red words it says "no matching account found" and all i wanna to do is talk to someone who will officially help me stop these charges to my credit card each month..that s all thank you so much again

Do i just wait for them to respond if they even do via email ...due to the fact that some words are the same as in my questions (i,e. cancel, subscription etc.) they gave me as well a list of question next to my initial question  and i did submit it and if they dont answer in a few days being that my card  possibly might be charged again ..(with no funds this time in my account) would it be a safe bet to email them again after say maybe a week of no response if any...i have never done anything like this before so i dont know what the time limit is on one of these questions?

 I was also reading "How do i cancel my subscription" and it states "Your subscription will still be active and fully functional until the Paid Through date listed on Your Account information page".
but i dont even know  about a  "paid through date" i cant go into my account i have never even seen my account information page, because i had forgotten my PW and then when wanted to reset it says "no matches found" .Im terribly sorry for all the questions but as you can tell im in dire need of help .

hopefully everything is fine and they wont charge me anymore  :well see

Yeah, it might take time before they reply though, as they can easily get backlogged. The "paid though" stuff just means, for example, you've paid for May but canceled May 15, you'll still have access through the end of May.

I am sure they'll get you all straightened out. Good luck and you're certainly welcome!

Hi, I'm having a similar problem and I need it resolved relatively quickly, because I have bills and rent to pay very soon and was charged for a year's membership, despite the fact that I (attempted at least, it seems like) cancelled my free trial subscription within the designated timeframe.
