As users, might we imagine that an increased infusion of general investment and resources could possibly enable IMDb to accelerate ongoing development in ways that could, in turn, benefit us as users?  If so, should we users ask Amazon to consider allocating such investment and resources to IMDb?  Would it be helpful and would it be appropriate for IMDb users to make such a request to Amazon?

If the users are Amazon Stockholders, maybe. Resources typically go to revenue generators or potential generators. I do not have any idea what the exact financial arrangements exist between Amazon and IMDb since the consolidated statements I've seen are not specific to that information.

What would they get in return for investing funds in Amazon, that they don't get now?  A guarantee that you'll be happier won't cut it.  They'll only want one thing...a guaranteed, or really good odds for, return on their investment that would be better than other forms of investing.

IMDb staff would probably have to participate and give info on which, if any, development plans will involve creating more business for Amazon's sites and how much, if any, more money Amazon might make by having these plans happen sooner than later.
