If a question/problem is marked with answered or solved or acknowledged, and it's not, do I need to repost it? I'm still trying to figure out so much and it gets confusing.

Yes, the staff unfollows a thread after it is marked as solved or answered. Re-post it.

that's what i thought but wasn't positive cuz I've had some that i posted back on addressed with additional info and others that just seemed to hang.
I see the term follow on the page, but must confess don't fully understand it, but guess that can give purpose to life-lol

thx for all the help.

And something I thought of after the fact, do I have to start from scratch, or is there a way to refer to the prior info?

Acknowledged isn't the same thing as answered. Acknowledged means a solution is pending.

alright let me ask this.
On this question it's marked acknowledged and there was a subtle question. I answered the question. So will this be looked at, or does it need reposted. I had to litter so many posts and really tried to make the question self-contained but I guess my naming wasn't as clear as it could have been.

Not exactly. "Solved" is a status associated only with problem type topics. "Answered" is a status associated only with question type topics. "Implemented" is a status associated only with idea type topics. That's pretty straightforward. "Acknowledged" and "In Progress" are statuses that can be attached to threads that are cast as problems or questions. "Under Consideration" and "Planned" are status that can be attached to threads that are cast as ideas. Visit https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/search/show and click the "Advanced Search" button for an idea of how this comes together.

Jeorj, et al, just witnessing how many times an employee replies after an answered or solved has been posted lead me to my reply of no.

Employees just do not see replies once a post has been marked answered or solved.
They do not have time to troll their old topics to look for replies. Unless an Admin. removes the answered or solved. (As witnessed by me when Col Needham changed the status twice) This was on topics that I had been responding to. An employee just will not see the replies unless this rarity happens.
Think about this. See Stats below

If an employee was getting reply e-mails on all the conversations, how would they distinguish new ones from "Answered or Solved" ones.

If the percentage of replied to after being marked as "Answered or Solved" was above 1/2 of 1% I'd be very surprised.
