I saw it years ago and never got a name. I don't remember much except that it follows not just a couple but at least five or six different protagonists living on different continents and it's about a meteorite (I think?) that fell on north america landing on Mexico (again, I think).
The whole continent became pretty much a desert, while Europe, on the other hand, became some kind of Tundra as per the effects of the meteorite. That's all I got, I don't remember the other regions mentioned.
