Image Contribution: Not Enough/Lack of supporting evidence?

Hi there,

I recently uploaded some images and they were rejected because of a "lack of evidence". How is that possible since for image upload, contributors can't provide a link for that unlike other contributions.

I uploaded 2 official Chinese posters for Escape Room:
#190208-204432-649102
#190208-204506-673102

Why someone would reject them? If the contributor can't give evidence then it's an issue on IMDb's end and the staff could find by themselves in 10 seconds on Google that these are real posters.

The same happened for a German poster for Looking Glass:
#190210-162439-492402
Evidence: https://www.amazon.de/Watcher-Willkommen-Motor-Way-Motel/dp/B07G21QKQW

And for a video game:
#190208-020929-943002
Evidence: https://www.amazon.com/Days-Gone-Playstation-4/dp/B01GW8XRCG

Now another issue, I uploaded this image: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7826034/mediaviewer/rm2025680384
It has been accepted but other similar production arts from the same "family" have been rejected:
#190208-012933-100802
#190208-012906-331002
#190208-012827-273002
#190208-012816-735902
#190208-012802-596402
#190208-012745-451602
#190208-012727-753102

Just why?

I suggest you add a box in the image upload window to let contributors put a link for evidence if the image team is not able to find out by themselves.

Hi Reeltor -

I can see that these images were not accepted because our editors were unable to verify the source.  If the images are from a credible source, please re-submit and our editors will take another look.  If they are still not accepted after a second review, please post the relevant submission numbers here along with the source information and our staff here can take a look.

Hi Michelle,

I re-submitted the images and most of them were accepted. I also since then submitted new images for upcoming TV shows and some were declined for the same reasons.

I don't remember this happening in the months/years before now, I wonder what changed.
And the delay between "Approved for Publication" and "Title Link Addition" is weird, almost a week to realize that it has been declined on the Title Link addition despite the image being approved days before.

I'm sure you have a lot of work, to process but there's really something wrong here. I can't just keep coming here to prove the images are official (usually from press sites) because an editor has a weak tool or whatever to verify it.

I hope you try to look into this situation and see how it can be improved, because long delays + wrongly delcined images leads to less contributions and more duplicate images by the time they are approved if at all.

Best.
