I am trying to post images for my talk show IMDb page, and they are within guidelines, but for some reason, it keeps telling me, "Error uploading image". Is this a site bug, or am I restricted from posting images?

Sorry to hear that there are issues with the upload.  Some tips on what to try:

1.  Please try another image just in case there is an issue with the size or encoding of the first image you are trying to add; watch for excessively long file names, characters outside A-Za-z0-9 and extremely large files (can you shrink the poster but keep it above our minimum size)

2.  Please try another browser just in case there is an incompatibility between your usual browser and our upload software.  In particular you may need to disable any browser plug-ins, particularly ad blockers.

3. If you have access to another machine or can ask a friend to upload on your behalf, try that

If it still does not work, please provide details of the system and browser you are trying, the title to which you are adding and attach a screen-grab of the error message and the poster you are trying to upload as a reply to this post.

Thanks and good luck.  Let us know how it goes.

We have made some changes to the image upload system since the problem was reported.  Please could you try again.

There are also some new troubleshooting tips on https://contribute.imdb.com/help/201989690

I am getting an "Error adding Image" when uploading an image.  What should I do?
First, check your file.  Make sure your image is a JPEG, between 50KB and 20MB, and has an RGB color space.  If you are unsure of the image file type, please open you image via an image editor (Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw) and resave as a JPEG. Set the Preset to "Web" which will convert the image to the RGB color space.  All images intended for the web should be RGB, images intended for printing may be RGB or CMYK.

Second, check your browser.  While image upload is supported on all newer browsers, please make sure your browser is completely up to date.  If you continue to have issues, please try another browser.  IMDb recommends either Firefox or Chrome for image upload.

Third, check your internet connection. If you are having trouble uploading very large files (18-20MB), please try compressing your image slightly.  If you have an unstable internet connection, a smaller image may help. Please note, the larger your image the better it will display on IMDb, so only compress your image if necessary.

Lastly, if you continue to have issues with your browsers or internet connection, if possible try uploading from a different computer at a different location (i.e. your home or work).  While unlikely, there may be an internal setting within your computer or network which is interfering with the upload process.

Please can you upload the exact image file you are uploading to a public file sharing service and let us know the URL. We can then try and diagnose the issue (the image you uploaded at http://prntscr.com/alebja is not in a JPEG format so cannot be used to reproduce the problem).

While I am at it, I am having severe difficulty adding my name to the credits of my show, while other names are added without question. I am very upset considering, I'm the host, main producer and I am in the title of the show.

Please see http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?addsprocessingtimes

Do you have any submissions older than the oldest item quoted on http://www.imdb.com/czone/times in the corresponding sections?

An update for you from the software team ... the cause of the upload failures is likely to be because your system clock is too far out-of-sync from the correct time in your time zone.  We use this for security purposes in accepting your upload. Please adjust your system clock or synchronize it with an NTP server (details can be found online with the right query to a search engine for your system).

Separately we are looking at displaying a better error message when this happens.
