Hello, IMDb community.
I've been an active contributing member of IMDb.com since the summer of 2005, and I've been a site user longer than that.
With the ever-increasing presence of cyber-crime, I've been taking the precaution of connecting to the Internet via a virtual private network (VPN) for about two years. During that time, my connections to and interest in the worlds of TV- and filmmaking have made visiting IMDb.com an almost daily occurrence. Until a few days ago, I'd never had any problem getting to the site. Now, unfortunately, IMDb.com will not load when I'm using my VPN. When I turn it off, the site loads normally, which is how I'm able to write this, with the hope of learning why this is happening (or not happening) and whether this is a purposeful and permanent situation.
If anyone can shed light on this problem or, even better, offer some kind of solution, I'd certainly appreciate it. I can't imagine I'm the only IMDb fan these days who uses a VPN, so there may be other people who'd like to know more about this, too.
