IMDb credits for film preservation projects

IMDb seems wildly inconsistent in allowing credit for work done on film preservation projects as producer, editor, composer, etc. When a film has been restored and released on DVD/BLU or airs on TCM etc., the credits attached to the preservation project should be documented on IMDb if identified as part of the preservation project (not the original film release). Those who work in the important area of film preservation should be recognized for their work.
