IMDB Rating System Totally Bogus

Everyone knows the rating system on IMDB is totally rigged and encourages trolls. Our film CUCK has only released the trailer (we open theatrically Oct 4) and the trailer alone brought all the usual suspects out of the woodwork who disagreed with what the movie might be...not even what it is. No one has seen the film...yet a couple hundred angry folks are allowed to get on and bomb the rating to dissuade people from seeing the film.

I propose IMDB reward activity on a title. The more attention a title getting the higher the noise rating. If someone wants to write a review well that's fine, take your shot. But I think allowing totally lazy down rating to go on is a total joke.

When only the trailer is out this isn't a rating it's more of a pile on. Please get it figure out IMDB.

There are people who vote because they think, it is racist without having seen the movie,  those who vote 10 because they think that those who rated the movie 1 doesn't see the movie and wants to equilibrate the rating, and those who voted randomly to have another rating in their profile.

Are the release dates below wrong? If they're right, how do you know people that saw it at these two festivals aren't the ones who have rated it?

And the breakdown shows a typical graph with lots at 1&10. The mean is 4.6 (vs imdb weighted avg of 2.5) which may be more accurate at this time until more people can rate it.

I pretty sure,  everybody rated the trailer, it is so controversial that it could easily happen.

I think that it is really a movie about an incel without glorifying the incel in question (at least I hope that I'm right.)

PS: By the way, I hate the word incel, first it just means involuntary celibates not dangerous dude who wants to kill everybody. I am a celibate because of My social abilities = 0, but I'm not dangerous. Anyway, what I mean is that by definition you can be involuntary celibate without being racist, misogyny and violent but in our actual world people make this mistake. Basically, people don't use this word properly.

(Like the controversy about the movie Joker.)

tYes we know it was presented at TIFF and at Venice and add pretty good review, but first a lot of people rated 1 because they read the new that it was violence endorsement and a dangerous movie,  those who rated it because they are comic books fans, and person who rated 10 for no reason because a lot rated 1 for no reason

Anyway, what happened to Aurora wasn't because of the movie, People like that can be encourage by many things.

“As you know, madness is like gravity...all it takes is a little push.”
― The Joker - Heath Ledger

Basically, Madness won't create with the help of the movie, If James Holmes had not found his push in the movie The Dark Knight Rises, he would have found it elsewhere.

Hi Chance -

As MikeTheWhistle pointed out earlier, it's possible that individuals who viewed the earlier festival screenings may have voted on the title.

Please also know that our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database.

No, actually it isn't. IMDb is very smart on the way it calculates ratings and trolls really don't much stand a chance. You are starting from a bad premise to make your case look compelling. Also, your film has so few ratings, that it isn't really meaningful. You can complain that the 1 votes are trolls but don't seem to care that the 10 votes are most likely shills from your company. IMDb can detect this and those votes don't get counted in the rating either.
