Dear Col Needham, thank you for your moderation. I do believe this is a new topic. I would like to address the issue of IMDb not providing a reasonable explanation on how it grounds its belief that information listed on the website is factual (when, again, it's not), which is broader than the previous one.

This has taken a new turn when IMDb official rep Michelle who is now asking for ME to prove what I'm claiming. Not only did I submit evidence via email, it was completely dismissed without even a comment on its validity. For privacy reasons, I do not wish to post the evidence here on this board, but I would be very happy to send it to anyone here who would kindly oblige and help me through this.

When you watch the video, at no point do you see the credits for who's done what. So, I would like IMDb to present evidence of that.

Here is the original post:

A couple of credits on my page are non factual.

IMDb claims they are.

I ask them to prove it, knowing that they can't, because there are no records (not even on the concerned video).

IMDb shuts me out, both through IMDb Customer Service (aka Helpdesk):

and on this website (https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/non-factual-credits-on-my-imdb-page-please-delete?utm_source...).

IMDb, if you can't prove it, please delete those credits.

Thank you.

Mehdi: It would be helpful if you posted here the explanation you submitted to IMDb as to why those credits should be deleted, so the contributors can see if you should have phrased it differently. Unfortunately, that information no longer appears in the e-mailed receipts, due to an idiosyncratic interpretation of privacy regulations, so you will have to copy it out of your contribution history on your own (and also provide the e-mailed receipt, preferably).

I understand that you are claiming that you were an actor in a TV commercial as you are listed on IMDb, but you were not the casting director or line producer on that commercial. Do you know who the casting director and line producer were?

Dear gromit82,

Thank you for your help, much obliged.

However way it could have been phrased, the intent is clear: I didn't undertake any of those 2 roles.

I do have proof of this in the form of an official business document, but I can't publish it out here in the open for obvious reasons. I can send it via email or form. This invoice had been dismissed, without any comment, by IMDb.

I know who the line producer is, as well as the casting director. The former doesn't mind being listed, the second doesn't want to. Especially after seeing how hard it is to remove a credit. I actually did try to modify the line producer credit to the actual one, but to no avail.

Cheers,
