Hello all, I've had this idea for a while now and wanted to write it up.

Thoughts/comments are appreciated, especially anyone from the IMDB who has any feedback re technical implementation.

Users would open the app, press the listen/go button and the app would detect what film was playing and provide users time indexed trivia via the IMDB.

My full idea/writeup and designs are over at -

Thanks for sharing the idea.  It does have potential ... it was launched in 2012 on the Kindle Fire Tablets as X-ray for Movies & TV powered by IMDb.  You can read more about it at http://www.imdb.com/x-ray/ (see under "Special Features" on the "Movies, TV & Showtimes" menu at the top of every IMDb page).

The feature is currently available on Fire Tablets and the Wii U when the user watches any supported movie or show on Amazon Instant Video or Prime Instant Video.  The recognition support was added earlier in the summer on the Amazon Fire Phone via the Firefly feature, read more on that at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EOE0WKQ/#firefly

Hope you are able to try X-ray ... we find it very informative and fun!

Thanks for the reply. X-Ray is pretty much what I imagined, only with popups rather than a stand alone area where the film is, presumably, paused.

Any plans to bring this as a standalone app to iOS?
