How can I change my IMDb ID to my actual name? It will not allow me to add the space bar between my first and last name. I cannot seem to do it without adding underscores. PLEASE HELP!

You can't. User ID's are made up by users and are not meant to reflect real names. You could, if you want people to know your real name, use an underscore to represent a space.

User ID's are for letting you use features like rating films, making lists, etc. If you have a page on IMDb listing your credits, that page is searchable and is how people will find info about you. User accounts are not searchable and don't easily display such data, though there is a bio area where you could add stuff, but it will only be seen if people click on your profile where they've seen your ID in places like the message boards.

Hi bluesmandSF, I have another question on profile name. I am trying to put a space between first and last name, but system will not allow it. Any pointers on this?

Thank you in advance for considering this.

If you're talking about a User ID, there is no way. It's like an email address. I cannot contain a space. They aren't really used, much, to display actual names as most people posting on message boards, etc., don't want to give personal information. So they are usually made up names, like mine is bluesmanSF.

You could imply the difference between first and last with an underscore or using capitalization. Like "Lawston_Fown" or "LawstonFown."

Hi Maria,

I do not believe it is possible to have a user name on IMDb with embedded spaces. The only user name I could find with embedded blanks is Col Needham (IMDb founder and CEO).

Your options are to use underscore (Maria_De_Sanctis), hyphens (Maria-De-Sanctis) or remove the blanks (MariaDeSanctis).

Actually, the no spaces way looks pretty good...that's my vote!
