IMDb links from Wikipedia break on mobile devices

Wikipedia uses the old, shorter IMDb URLs - using Nicolas Cage as an example, Wikipedia links to this URL at the bottom of his article http://www.imdb.com/name/nm115/ and when clicking the link on a desktop, the URL is automatically converted into http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000115/

The same doesn't happen when using a mobile device (specifically iOS 7/Safari), clicking on http://www.imdb.com/name/nm115/ gives http://m.imdb.com/name/nm115, which gives a "Page not found" error.

Would it be possible to make the mobile site behave in the same manner as the full/normal/regular site.

I do not recall that form of the URL ever being officially sanctioned. The correct form of all their constants has always been a text string with two alpha characters followed by seven numeric ones.

i would recommend updating the Wikipedia links to the standard format, rather than relying on IMDb to fix them.
