IMDB needs a more spoiler-free way to look up a show

I always fear looking up longer running TV shows that I've just started to watch, because the # of episodes and years an actor is in a show always spoils for me that a character dies off. I want IMDB to have a "safe viewing" option that would hide these things, so I can still look up who plays a certain character without having these things ruined for me.

I don't even think of that as a spoiler. Many times an actor is simply not in every episode so it's all about how you interpret what you are seeing anyway.

A show could be 100 episodes long and an actor listed as being in 3 episodes. Maybe they were in the first episode, the last episode and some episode in the middle. It doesn't mean they were killed off. Not every actor is in every episode even if they are still part of the show/story.

Plus if its an ongoing series, the information may not be accurate yet either. New episodes take time to have their data verified.

I would suggest you change the way you think about those numbers, it doesn't always mean what you assume it does. And just ignore it from there.
