IMDb won't let me add the short documentary film that I made in 2008, and won an award for. It got screened as part of a short film program around the country, and got a mention in the Sydney Morning Herald, yet IMDb can't find it on their stupid extremely limited database ! What do I do about this ? I want it listed under my name as it is a decent piece of work, and other friends of mine have shorts listed in their credits which had much less exposure. Who do I contact to fix this problem ??

^ this sentence tells me you do not understand how this works....
I'm happy to help. Can you please copy/paste the information you have been submitting (ie title, year, links, cast, crew)?

...or if you haven't actually submitted this title for addition to IMDb, please let me have some key roles - editor, producer, production company, official date of release (first screening) - these things plus the info I have easily found online will make it pretty easy to get this added if we actually submit it...

Forgive the belligerent tone of my post, I admit I am fairly new to IMDb, so there's a chance I missed something :)
It was a personal documentary short film called 'Facing the Black Dog' that I entered into a film competition called the Hope Awards in 2008. I won a prize in that competition.
I wrote, produced, directed and edited the film. Music was composed by Ken Clark. Camera was by Michael White.
There was a mention of it in the Sydney Morning Herald that year. :

And here is a mention of the competition. The winning films were screened in cinemas around the country as part of a travelling film program about mental health issues.

I just want to get my IMDb credits in order.

The first official screening was at the Verona Cinema in Paddington Sydney on the 28th July 2008 at the awards ceremony.

And here is some more information from a link I found. It's frustrating hunting down old credits but I wasn't aware of the importance of IMDb back then. My bad :)

Submission 140604-123601-893000 done.
You didn't give me any company credits so I have assumed those associated with the Hope Awards are connected...if others are relevant I can add once it goes live - which I would guess will be in a week or less?
I appreciate the apology for your tone...IMDb does not have an army of staff walking around festivals with their laptops...so most data on the site will be added by production companies or by viewers - so as the maker of your film, if you haven't added it to the database, then who will? Your 2008 film is not available online and will have screened to comparatively few people - so the odds of one of your audience having a pen/paper to quickly grab the credits, then come to IMDb to do the addition is small.
Adding a title is easy if you have good information - often those that made the film will have the best information and knowledge....
Fingers crossed for this one being accepted - I submitted about 6 or 7 different links proving it was screened so I don't think it will have any issues.

Your short film is now listed: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3777446
At the moment it is just the bare bones but credits and other information submitted a few hours ago will be gradually added over the next day or so...

I don't think we ever got to the bottom of that sentence - why you think IMDb were refusing to add your film?
With the data you gave me, this non-Pro user with no connection to IMDb staff, no special access, skills or knowledge, submitted your film and 19 hours later it is live and listed and linked to your name page and thus showing up in your credits:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3777446
Hope a little of your unfounded frustration has now subsided! Happy to help you.
