For the last few years now, say 2015 to present, IMDB has been rejecting nearly all of my submissions with the reason, "Unable to verify." When it comes to a plot hole, it is a general consensus with the viewers and impossible to verify without watching the given movie several times and knowing it inside and out. For example, I spotted over twenty plot holes in "The Fugitive" that were all grammatically solid and generally agreeable among a consensus of other viewers, yet, IMDB continually rejects them as "Unable to verify." What IMDB is really saying, is "UNWILLING to verify," conveniently freeing them up from any data base work. Years ago they never did this. Why? Did they get a new content manager or something?
I can understand bad formatting or spelling errors, but I never get those, seeing as how I've been doing product and movie reviews for almost thirty years now. Whenever IMDB rejects one of my "verified" submissions, it's a slap in the face and an insult. I want to know if IMDB plans to change their policies in the future to allow more grace when it comes to plot hole goof submissions, in addition to all the other categories that they have been rejecting, including continuity, anachronisms, character errors and especially factual errors. I see it as a serious problem and the decline in IMDB as a whole. I could cite all my academic credentials, but that would be "a vulgar display of power."
Care to elaborate, IMDB why the new ultra-conservative attitudes with goof submissions?
