Once you have rated a movie it should no longer show up in the "recommended for you" section. You should also be able to click "ignore" or something, if you no longer want certain movies to show up in the "recommended for you" section.

OK apparently this already kind of happens, though sometimes I still get movies that I have added to my watchlist or rated in there occasionally.

It should really filter out titles you've rated (as you must have seen them), if not then we should be given direct access to the recommendations engine, so we can manipulate inputs and sort/filter the output:

If you deleted your account, I assume there is not much for the recommendation to hook into.

Hi Jay,

It is my understanding that recommended for you only uses films in your Watchlist. If the algorithm also references films you have rated, then you may have too few films for the algorithm to work properly.

Do you have anything any films in your Watchlist?

Why rate films then if they aren't used for recommendations? Since they would have different weights than just listing all titles you have seen but liked/disliked different levels being given the same weight?

Again the issue isn't the quality of the recommendations.

The issue is there are no recommendations or box for recommendations there at all.

Have all titles that I have rated under watchlist. Still nothing.

Finally am getting recommendations but over 1/3 of them are from titles i've rated below 5/10.
