I was rating a batch of movies I'd seen in the last couples weeks and everything worked fine. But yesterday I went to rate movies and I can click on the appropriated "star bar" the rating fills in but it will not save the rating. I usually use firefox but I even have a barebones chrome I tried rating on with the same results. After I click on my rating the rating doesn't save it just goes back to an empty bar. The only way I have been able to save a rating was to use the mobile app which has a save button. I really need to rate through my web browser and using the app to rate is just too slow. Any ideas how I can get it to save my rating?

Whenever I try to add a star rating to a title, it doesn't seem to register. The meter pops up, the stars fill up to where I land my cursor, I click, but get no indication that the rating actually stuck, and when I refresh the page to check the rating is not registered. I've tried refreshing, restarting my browser, switching to a different browser, and each time I'm logged into this account. Why can't I get this to work?

For the last few days, when I try to rate a movie on IMDB, my rating does not appear and the end of the URL changes from /reference to /reference#void? I have rated movies on IMDB for over a decade and never had this problem before.

So for the past 3 days, the star ratings pop-up button is not working for any film. I use Chrome and have never had this issue before. Does anyone know what is going on?

It's the same with me. I'm unable to save ratings on my PC, using Firefox. I CAN save ratings using my iPhone, so it's clearly not an issue with my account, but with the IMDB site.

Yesterday and today, I was able to rate movies again using Firefox on my computer at work.  However, last night, I still couldn't rate movies using Chrome on my laptop at home.

Hello All,

Thank you for your patience. Our technical team is working to reproduce this issue and need some additional information. Can you please provide answers to the following questions:

1. URL(s) where the issue can be reproduced
2. Screenshot(s) if possible
3. Details about any browser configuration considerations. Is JavaScript disabled? Are privacy controls or ad blockers enabled?

Thank you in advance.

1. Well it's on all movies. But here is one for example: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2568862/reference#void
2. I will try to get screen shots but it's hard as when you click on the star to rate a movie a what I have nicknamed the "star bar" pops out, but if I touch another key to try and capture it it snaps back to it's default position. I'll have to try and think of someway to screen cap another way.
3. I have the same problem on Firefox, and on Chrome. I am using the native Chrome with no add ons (to make sure there are no ad blockers or other extensions getting in the way.) The OS is Windows 10.
4. Javascript is enabled. I will try and figure out how to temporarily disable that and test it that way, and if I can get back into this thread I will update it if that fixed it. Although, wow, a lot of people run with javascript, so I don't know what you'd have to do then. But javascript was also enabled back when it was working in the last couple weeks.
5. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND - When I am watching movies I write them down on a legal pad. When I fill a page I go in and rate them on IMDb, letterboxd, and TMDb. A week or two ago I rated a whole bunch on IMDb and as always it was flawless. When you add to that in the interim I have changed nothing on my system, and now it's not working. Nothing has changed on my end. Logically that, and the fact that other users are experiencing diagnostically would lead me to the conclusion that the source is on your site, and I would look at to see if someone changed some code in the ratings sections in the last several weeks as a clue.
5. Just a suggestion as I know nothing about coding but long term maybe this problem would disappear if that ratings are was just changed to mimic the app. In other words just add a "save" button. (I'm sure it's not that simple, but might be a good idea even if just for the user having a consistence rating experience no matter the platform)

UPDATE: I have completed testing with javascript enabled & disabled in both firefox and chrome. No ad blockers.
Graphic #1 is Firefox with javascript enabled. You can hit rate and select a star but will not save.
Graphic #2 is Firefox with javascript DISABLED. The bar shows up expanded but will not let you select a star and the VOTE button does not work.

The results were identical for a stripped down version of Chrome and produced identical results and described for firefox.

I couldn't rate a movie Get Out (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5052448/) using the browser, only through the app. The website wouldn't acknowledge my mark for some unknown reason.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled No longer able to leave IMDb ratings.

For about a week now I've not been able to leave ratings on titles I've seen. The link reloads without registering my rating but shows "/reference#void" at the end of the URL.

I've had various problem alongside this with issues updating my profile and pictures. I've tries deleting my cookies and history but it hasn't helped. So I'm not quite sure if this is a problem my end or if there's anything you can advise to do?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled I'm having trouble voting.

I can't vote on titles.
I've seen two films recently and I'm trying
to add them to my voting history but it's not working.  I go to a
title's page (in this case Bright and How To Train Your Dragon, just in
case by a massive coincidence I'm stumbled on two problem pages!), click
Rate and the little row of stars crops up ... I then click the number I
want to give the film in question but then nothing happens.  I click
again, still nothing.  It just sits there without having recorded my
vote.

This has been going on for several days so I've restarted
my computer several times and still have the same problem.  I've even
updated Flash in that time, too.
I'm using a Firefox browser on Windows 10.

UPDATE: Early today it was still not working but at least as of 08:09PM CST 01/31/18 it appears to have started saving ratings okay.
