Incorrect credits on page - same name

Hello, my page Ian Jackson (I) had other credits from another Ian Jackson merged onto it. I edited the page by removing the Ian Jackson credits that were not mine, however instead my credits were transferred to another page Ian Jackson (XXIX), this was not the intention as my original page Ian Jackson (I) has additional information on it which is incorrect for the credits currently on it. How can I rectify this? I would like to get my credits transferred back onto the Ian Jackson (I)

Thanks

Hello Ian,
If I understand you correctly, you can do this by transfering the credits back to Ian Jackson (I) [nm0413598]. Do them one title at a time rather than trying to merge or split the names.

Thanks for the reply, after doing this, would I be correct in saying I need to do the reverse for the incorrect credits? A few days ago I tried to transfer the incorrect credits onto a new Ian Jackson page with the view to then transfer the credits from Ian Jackson (XXIX) back onto the Ian Jackson (I) page, however this hasn't gone through.

Hello Ian,
I'm confused (not difficult  :) )
But you can make a submission at any time to correct any of the names on any title. That's the best way to move credits between name records.

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the confusion, I have already submitted changes to remove the incorrect name from Ian Jackson (I) however there has been no change on the page.

No sorry, none of the above is the correct action. This will require another staff member to work through the issues created here. Please await further instructions / questions and make no further edits. Your credits will need to stay on Ian Jackson (XXIX) since the credits on Ian Jackson (I) predate yours. It is never the correct action to simply try and delete someone else’s accurate credits.

Hello,

This was not my intention, originally these credits were on another page, for some reason they merged. I would like to get everyones credits back to normal!

More than happy to answer any questions

Thanks for the reply

Thank you Colin for your prompt reply, I look forward to a reply from your team to help rectify this for everyone. Im not sure why the merge happened, however it has caused a lot of confusion on the profiles.

Many thanks

Hi Ian -

I understand that you are referring to the following pages:

Ian Jackson (I)
Ian Jackson (XXIX)

Please note that when we split credits we will retain the page for the individual who has the first listed credits, all other credits belonging to the other individual will then be moved to a separate page listing. In this case, the credits listed for the other 'Ian Jackson' predate your credits, this is why your credits were moved to a separate listing.

If there are any further instances where your credits are still listed on the wrong page (or vice versa, if there are still credits for the other 'Ian Jackson' on your page), please let us know, otherwise, know that your page listing on the site is listed correctly.

I hope this helps clarify!
