3 Weeks ago I posted this message on "Get Satisfaction":
With the latest changes to the IMDb ratings page, I now have what I consider a serious problem. On the "My Ratings" and "My Profile" page, the total number of titles I've rated is listed at 7,320. However due to titles being removed from the database, the total is actually 7,275. The only way to really know how many titles I've voted for is to go to the "My Ratings" page, export the file, open the file in Excel, drag to the bottom of the spreadsheet, and look at the final row number. Then I know how many I've actually seen. This is incredibly frustrating.
As a software engineer/web developer, I know there is a way to remove orphaned records from the deleted titles table so that your pages will reflect correct number of titles I've voted on. Could you PLEASE do this?
It was immediately merged into the debacle of the loss of ratings filters post and forgotten. It is still a problem 3 weeks later. Please have the courtesy to at least respond:
- If this only affects the few, then say so!
- If your too swamped to correct the issue, then say so!
- If it's technically to hard to fix, then say so!
At this point inaccurate ratings totals are useless too me. IMDb is becoming a dumpster fire. I have already migrated my ratings to letterboxd. Sad after 18+ years of faithfully (and for free) supporting your site I am being kicked to the curb.
