Incorrectly Regarded As Goofs Category

When submitting an item to the Goofs section, there used to be a category for "Incorrectly Regarded As Goofs". However, while submitting today, I couldn't find it in the category drop-down. I'm positive I'm not hallucinating it, because it's listed as an option in the help documentation. Has this category been removed, or restricted somehow? (And if so, who should be notified to update the docs?)

I think it is only available if you edit an existing item, although this is not mentioned in the guidelines.

No Justin, you're not hallucinating it. It is still there for some goofs. But I think that they are thus labelled at the discretion of the list managers. Check out Prometheus (I) (2012) for some examples of it in use.

Try submitting it as a Miscellaneous Comment with Type = Goofs then saying in the Comment that you want it added as "Incorrectly Regarded As Goofs"

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your post.

As mentioned by Peter, the option to select Incorrectly regarded as goofs is only available when you're correcting an existing goof.

I'll look into the guide and update this if necessary.

Have a great day!

Thanks,

Joel

Hello, Justin.

To add a thing more to what Joel, Peter and Steve said there: if you know a mistake which is commonly considered one but might actually be a deliberate detail by filmmakers or another such borderline case, it might fit into "Character error" category of Goofs!
