I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I'm curious to know what it would take to prevent users who are on ignore from having access to those who have ignored them. This would mean that if one poster places another on ignore, the ignored poster would no longer be able to see their threads or report them.
This might not be a big issue on most boards, but the general boards which have become high traffic communities with a wider variety of users would certainly benefit.

Oh I could see that being used for advanced dickery.

This would mean that if one poster places another on ignore, the ignored poster would no longer be able to see their threads or report them.

So a troll gets on a forum (let's say the Breaking Bad or Walking Dead ones) and reports every single sensible poster on there. Those ordinary users would then not only not be able to see what the troll is posting (which could include their own personal information) but they'd not be able to report the troll, who would then get a free run at polluting the forum. Trolls and their ilk are already the worst abusers of the report function, we shouldn't be rewarding them for it with extra features.

I only wish there was a -1 button.

Good to know those listed as "champion" on this site aren't given that title for possessing tact or understanding. I'll make sure and not come here for help in the future as I will expect my errors will be pointed out to me with the highest level of dickery and no regard for me an an actual individual.

And, the troll would only need to log out, look at the board and see what's going on (or, of course, have a second account). Yes, it's been discussed before and there hasn't seem to be much value in doing this.

Thanks for pointing that out, Bluseman. I hadn't thought about that . I can see how that wouldn't be a very good idea.

Betty, that is an EXCELLENT idea! Certainly better than what is in place now.
