Add "insert image" to imdb, and if possible, switch the forums to vbulletin to make it possible.

I think it would do wonders if done right.

A few years ago, IMDb allowed users to include images in their posts to the message boards. Unfortunately, some users posted inappropriate images. In addition, pages with lots of images caused pages to load very slowly.

^ People are going to do that anyway even without insert image, they can still link. But that leads me to my second idea; maybe imdb adding a few moderators. Most sites just appoint random members, so it wouldn't add to the cost of running the site.

And most other forums don't seem to have trouble with insert feature and loading plus imdbs message boards seems to be fairly light weight, so I don't see how it would bog things down, but then again, I don't code the site or anything.

The problem is that there are huge numbers of message boards, so you' need a lot of moderators. It is a huge task and I don't think I'd fancy the job (and I've moded and admined numerous message boards, some professionally - you can just about keep a well-behaved forum ticking over with an average of 1 mod for every 1or 2 forums, depending on activity. Some of the IMDB forums are raging bear pits which would require constant fire-fighting by dedicated teams and there are 100,000s of forums - you'd need such a huge number of people but how do you know you can trust them? Even with small numbers of mods there are often complaints about abuses of power, although they are usually imaginary).
