As the title says... seriously, It used to be a matter of hours in the old format.
When the new one was implemented, out of 5 reviews, 3 or 4 would be almost instantly added and 1 would take hours, even days.
Now, it seems that all reviews take at least a day to get published and many hours to be edited. I thought it would only concern recent movies but it did the same thing for a movie where I was the only reviewer.
Why does it take more time all of a sudden?

Not for the moment, I'm planning to add a few reviews in the next couple of days but my last review broke a record: 2 days and half! (never happened before) :)

It happened again, 3 days and it's still pending. It's so random, I wrote like 3 reviews, they all get there almost instantly, and this one is pending, why? I don't know.

Data never has and never will be processed strictly in the order it is received; we optimize processing for overall efficiency and accuracy.
Since user reviews are covered by the "Track My Contribution" feature, simply find the email receipt for any unprocessed review and click the link "View the status of your contribution" if you are ever concerned.

If I wrote in order Review A, Review B and Review C and then it took for A 16 hours to get published, for B 1 day and for C 2 days and half, that would make sense.
But now, it's like A is included within 5 minutes, C instantly and B takes like 2 or 3 days. It feels totally random.
I do not do Reviews

I've been submitting data for two years now and I know the delays have to be counted in days, but I wasn't talking about any data, I was quite specific about reviews.
The thing is that I've been posting reviews for 8 years, I know that some users had trouble having their reviews published quickly but speaking for myself, apart from 2 or 3 exceptions, it never took them more than 3 hours to get published (I'm speaking of more than 1200 reviews).
I know things have changed when the new format was implemented, and since the requirements for reviews have been simplified (I noticed some new ones don't take more than a line and are closer to one-sentence comment than reviews per se) so maybe it gave more work to your editors.
However, I thought that issue would concern recent movies that garner from 5 to 10 new reviews a day, so when I was submitted a review for "3 Billboards", I wasn't that surprised that it took like 12 hours to get published, but after that, I submitted a review of "Frankenstein" (1931) and it's been 36 hours (!) so it doesn't really depend on how recent the film is... so I'm confused.
And I didn't ask to track my submissions, but I just wanted to know if other prolific reviewers had the same problem, and if now we have to expect reviews to take days to be published, because no matter what the link says, reviews used to be an exception.
I guess it's not the case anymore and we've got to get used to it, but it's a pity because it really slows down the dynamics of reviewing (I used to wait for reviews to be published before submitting new ones) and doesn't work in an encouraging way.
