Is it possible to turn this page into a chat room for movies/tv too

I and other users, so many others, miss the discussion boards. A lot. The ease of discussing stuff without adding a list or poll is amazing. Its really cumbersome to, before any discussion, to have to make a custom list (especially with the way titles and people cant be added to lists graphically but have to be done by typing their names manually) or poll.

C'mon please allow general discussions or make another get satisfaction page for discussions without lists and/or polls. Thanks

It would be best if a forum was implemented on IMDb·Com, for use by people who have IMDb user accounts, but with software (albeit a collection of features) that vastly eclipses that of the old message boards as well as Get Satisfaction's. A private messaging system would be the recommendable first step in that direction. It would be great for the system to have highly-customizeable access control schemes, so that messages can be shared instead of forwarded, ensuring authenticity.

Yeah, I miss the message boards and private messages.  IMDb feels like an entirely solitary exercise now.  I hardly even get any posts on my lists--not that I'm going to sign up with Facebook or whatever to respond, anyways.  The helpful votes on reviews and list view numbers are mostly only useful in that they show there are other people out there who've at least seen what I've composed but whom I can't talk to.

Exactly. They've replied not planned as in a new discussion/messaging system isn't planned by them but I really suggest them to tell the CEO Jeff about this and come up with a new system that's as friendly and helpful as the previous one was.

Yes, its true IMDb has become a solitary thing like I don't get any posts on my lists and I dont think anyone wants to even comment using the fb comments nor do I think they even work.

I might get bashed for this but not having any easy messaging or discussion or post system is in my opinion a blow to free speech and online free speech.

Mohit Mago to be honest: from a perspective of a person who never quite used the old message boards: I've never seen them as essential functions of IMDb which is, first and foremost, a database. Considering how much specialized forums are there, as well as social network groups, I actually don't see the reason why IMDb should have any boards or discussion in modern times.

This IS your modern message board at IMDb. Use it.
IMDb has not stopped your free speech.
It just moved off the movies and actors pages to a place where more people who never heard of IMDb can become familiar with the database.
