Kûkai (2017)  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6157626/releaseinfo

This film has a release date Japan 25 October 2017 (Tokyo International Film Festival). Actually the date is just a 10 mins Special Screenings for Special Opening Presentation in Tokyo Film Festival. Ref to TIFF:  http://2017.tiff-jp.net/en/lineup/works.php?id=72

So, I submit an update #171027-030316-626000 which is denied after 10 days.

I'm wondering what is the standard of the release date data. Does anyone know?

Hi Kaisic king -

Please note that we do consider festival screenings to be a valid release for a title, since the title you referenced was screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, the listed release date is valid and is why your Release Date deletion request was not accepted.  You can find additional details about Release Dates in our guide here.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

My point is that the film was only screened for 10 mins as a clip or trailer from this 2 hours longer full-length film. In this situation the TIFF release date will misleading most people.

Can it be more specific? Maybe add one more attribute like '(10 mins screening)'?

Thanks!

Hi Kaisic King -

After further review of the festival website, the screening at the Tokyo International Film Festival would not be considered a valid release date, as per our policy.  The Release Date you reported has now been removed from the title page and the footage screening has been added as a Trivia item on the title page.  Cheers!
