From my experience of using this site, most questions etc. are answered fairly quickly, then they're marked as "answered", "solved", etc., and rarely get any more replies. While I'm glad things get answered quickly, it's frustrating when the response is either unhelpful or plain wrong. In the specific case of this question (https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/the-short-genre-is-redundant), I'm glad that someone took the time to try to help, but the answer either doesn't make sense or was not explained properly. It was then marked as answered and I doubt anyone will ever look at it again. I replied to the answer but received no response.
Is there a way to get a question unmarked as answered? Or a way to otherwise get a post noticed again (other than posting about it again)?

Upon investigation, it seems like it's possibly the case that selecting "Short" as the length of the film automatically adds the "Short" genre; however, I don't know that for certain, because no one seems prepared to actually bother to answer questions properly, and the IMDb help section leaves a lot to be desired.

Please note that he also clicked a "like" to the reply on this thread and marked it as having been "answered" appropriately enough.
Just because you don't feel an answer is sufficient doesn't mean that hasn't been answered sufficiently enough. Marking them "answered" is helpful for others as they would be wasting time to open it, read it and then read the response. It's only a problem for you if the thread has been "closed" to more replies. Otherwise there still can be more posts and discussion. Did you ask the above question as a follow-up? You certainly could and "answered" can certainly be removed.

That's just my opinion. Others might have a different take. I guess there's no right/wrong answer to this...the board allows such features...they can probably be applied differently. I think we're getting to the point of overthinking it and beating the dead horse...
