Is this an appropriate item about two gay actors?

To me this seems like an unnecessary trivia item. It's based on two actors being gay. I guess my opinion is whether the same item would be posted if it were a non-gay relationship, and I'd think not. Opinions? Am I being too conservative?

Yes! LOL
The only thing that's wrong is poor grammar.
It should be "that it's Zachary............. not "that it".

Exactly! The joke is intended. The contributor simply explained it for those of us who missed it/don't watch either show etc. I don't see why this had to be removed. The Sheldon guy is also gay, and gay people have the right to joke around. (Kind of like rappers using the N-efarious word.)

If the OP is crying foul, best to take it to the production. Sometimes homophobia is in the eye of the reader! SMH.

This is why I ask. From
https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/names-biographical-data/biographical-data-guidelines/GMT9...
"Personal details about sexual orientation, religion, medical history, political/ideological affiliations, unless significantly relevant and/or unless they represent the focus of a person’s public career or activism."

Seems like a side-door way to include this info. There is no relationship at all between the two other than their sexual orientation. If this were a heterocouple who had no relationship either, would it be an appropriate item? If one wasn't gay, would it be something to post? If the answer is no, then I think it is inappropriate.

Would it still be a valid trivia item if you removed the last sentence? (I'm often baffled by what people and staff consider to be valid trivia).

Personally, I think it might be better if it was reformatted as a quote instead of trivia, dropping the reference to the actors' sexuality in the process, but that's just my opinion.

With this insult, heterosexual guys would be resistant to the act. The irony with Zach (I'll skip Parsons) is he might inclined to do it. Ever consider the other interpretations of Lady MacBeth declaring "I have given you Suck!"? ;)

I would remove the last sentence as Phil G said, It is not necessary to know that both actors are gay to understand the trivia item.

I think that according to the help section link you provided that the last sentence is inappropriate.

I too tried to remove the item without success which is why I posted here to see if I was off-base. The more time I've had to think about it; the more convinced I am that it's inappropriate.  It's simply a gay joke that one would hear in a bar from a drunk and it should be removed. I would think imdb is better.
My basis is that if the actors were substituted for say Leonard and Penny who dated in real life, it wouldn't be something posted. I can see the rest of it being ok without that one sentence.

Hi all,

Thanks for your posts.

I've taken a look and the trivia item has already been removed.

Please remember, it's a very subjective data type and different people may have varying opinions on the same item - this can also happen when editors vet data requests.

If you are certain about a request and it has been rejected, I would always recommend re-submitting it for re-review.

Thanks,

Joel

Question, resubmit over contact us? The problem is that there's never enough info on a reject to find out how to better submit so as to hope to get an acceptance on a subsequent submission.
