It is a Google issue - you can use their report an issue and highlight the IMDB page on the search results, however, I don't see any reason why they would/should but you can ask.

I thought it would be an imdb thing - in the same way that on Casting Call Pro, you can untick that your profile be searchable on Google from WITHIN the Casting Call Pro profile options. Do Imdb not have this option from within their control too?

No, IMDb does not have that option because its purpose is very different from Casting Call Pro.
Casting Call Pro is set up to link actors with potential jobs, and the information there is totally under the control of the Actor. Only what the Actor wants to show is listed, and they have the choice of whether or not they want the general public to see what is there via the Google search.
IMDb, on the other hand, is a database of information about Films (and certain other media) and the people who work on them. This is intended to be used primarily by the general public, and as such IMDb would want the public to find it when they search for it.
Note that, except for the paid Resume page, the person the page is about has no more ability to control what data is added to the page is about than any other registered user. The information shown is publicly available data and the Actor does not control what is added. Therefore, there is no reason for the Actor to be able to restrict Google searches.

That makes sense. Thank you both. I have absolutely no problem with imdb's public philosophy. However, there are two distinct forms of being "public" concerned here: i) Searching imdb in an of itself - which I have no issue with as I have no problem with the info being on their site. And ii) Searching Google - which is what I am concerned with. It's the "google searchability" of the info on imdb that I'm mainly enquiring about, not the info on imdb per se. But I guess that was kinda answered with the first response. Even so... Any advice would be appreciated now that true nuance is hopefully clarified.
