Issues with "as" attribute

I recently removed the middle initial from IMDb page as I'm never credited with it.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4620395/

I ticked the box so my former credits would not be notated with middle initial with the "as" credit, but the ALL are. Is this still in a state of adjustment, or do I need to manually remove each one?

Hi E -

Please note that the 'alternate names' information on a filmography page is meant to include every instance of a person's name. This information is mostly derived from on-screen credits and may, therefore, include spelling variations due to actual typographical errors in films' main or end titles. This is also done so that anyone searching for a name which appears in the on-screen credits of a film will be directed to the page belonging to the correct person, even if the on-screen credits feature a different spelling.

If you were not credited on-screen under the name "Erik C. Bloomquist" for the credits listed on your page, then you will need to submit the applicable credit corrections and request the removal of the name attribute.  However, if you were credited under that name, we will need to retain the "as" attributes for those credits.

If he removed the mark in the checkbox in the name correction form because he is never credited under the former name, it is questionable to ignore that when the correction is processed. Manually editing more than 60 credits is a lot.

Hi, Peter. Yes, but the implication is that the contributors who added the credits in the first place, all the way since 2010 or so, erroneously omitted the attribute "(as Erik Bloomquist)". Hm...

I don't find that so unlikely.

That is correct. I did notate on my submission that the attribute should not be there. I'm not credited with the middle initial on any of this material. On the contrary, I've had many credits with the attribute billing with without my middle initial. It's just been my IMDb name, and I haven't changed it until now.

Does it look like I now have to change everything manually?

Hi, E. What is the 18-digit reference number of the name correction submission? By the way, earlier you meant that you unticked the "preserve previous name on existing credits" box, right? Because if you submitted the correction with it ticked, then you did the opposite of what you intended to do.

 Contribution #180911-045756-401000

If I did in fact make that error, do I need to fix everything one by one myself?

Thanks very much.

Hi E,

Thanks for your response.

If your name page was originally listed as Erik C. Bloomquist but you were only ever credited on film as Erik Bloomquist - any credits you added prior to the name page text update should have included the attribute (as Erik Bloomquist), this is to reflect how you were accurately listed as at the time.

To help our editors confirm you were listed simply as Erik Bloomquist on these titles, can you please provide a screen grab of your name listed in the end credits of some which currently include the (as Eric C. Bloomquist) attribute, our editors can review these and if necessary will update the attributes.

Thanks in advance,

Joel

Here is Eric Bloomquist's writer, producer, editor and cast credits from Ghost Tour. You can see, no middle initial. He's got a lot of credits so I'll leave it to others for other credits.

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your post and looking into this further.

Along with your find, I've managed  to locate a few more end credits which list Erik without the initial, as a result I've removed this attribute now.

Have a great day,

Joel
