Don't panic! Chances are your data is still there -- the reason why you can't access it is because you have logged into the wrong account.
When you add titles to your watchlist, or vote on a film or post a comment, this information is associated with your IMDb account. If, for any reason, you create and log into a different account, all this information won't be there. You'll need to log out and log in again using the correct credentials (i.e. the username/email address and password associated with the account you used to create those lists or ratings).
"But I did not create a new account", you may say.
Well, you probably did it by accident. The most common case is when you have an existing account which you created by signing up for your IMDb registration using your email address, but then decide to log into IMDb using a different login method (e.g. Facebook or Amazon or Google).
When you attempt to login via Facebook and you have a Facebook account that is associated with an email address different than the one associated with your IMDb account, you end up creating a second account, which will not have any of the data you customized with the first.
For example, let's say that you have an account on IMDb which is registered to the email address johndoe@hotmail.com and you have personalized this account by creating a watchlist and adding other data; then you decide to use the Login with Facebook option, but your Facebook account is registered to the email address johndoe@gmail.com -- what you'll end up doing is create a new account on IMDb under the email address johndoe@gmail.com and log into the site with that account, which will have none of the assets linked with the first.
In some cases this is a bit difficult to detect because both accounts will be registered to the same name (i.e. when you are logged into either account, the site will still greet you by your given name). But you can easily verify this by going to this page, which will display the email address associated with the account you are currently using.
The solution is simple -- just log out of the site or app and log in again using the email address and password associated with your original account. You'll find that all the data/lists are still there and will be accessible.
