Greg: Just to be clear, are you the Greg P. Russell at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751169/?

I don't think there's anything that can be done about the "known for" films that appear just above your filmography. Those are selected by an automated process for which IMDb has not revealed the details. See http://www.imdb.com/help/search?domain=helpdesk_faq&index=1&file=knownfortopfaq.

However, currently your mini-bio consists of only one sentence saying, "Greg P. Russell is known for his work on National Treasure (2004), The Usual Suspects (1995) and Bad Boys II (2003)." That bio was created by IMDb software from the data it was able to parse (your IMDb page doesn't list your birthdate or birthplace, for example, which if it were there would be put into the automatically generated mini-bio). And the only data the software has about you that it is able to parse was the list of "known for" films that had been generated by a different part of the software.

You can get rid of the one-sentence mini-bio by submitting a human-written biography which will automatically replace it once accepted. Go to http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751169/bio and click "Edit page". On the next screen, on the Biography line, select "Add 1 item". Click "Continue".

On the next screen, you can write your biography as appropriate, and then complete the process and submit it.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Why is it we can't have any control of the four films selected for the KNOWN FOR aspect of our own page. Makes NO SENSE. I would much rather have SKYFALL in place of BAD BOYS 2 and TRANSFORMERS in place of NATIONAL TREASURE. They are much more popular and much more in line with what I am KNOWN FOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because it's part of the database and works with the search function, etc., to help users distinguish between names or make sure we're choosing the right name while searching.  It's a tool for users and is not meant to, and doesn't, imply anything other than show what the system thinks would help us find you.

Always keep in mind, a Name Page is not a resume but a data searching tool. Your page is not meant to give a good or bad snapshot of you but simply a list of data referring to you.

I still think it's ridiculous not to be able to edit those films and select from your OWN credits what would be the 4 that best represents your body of work and certainly more in line with what your truly KNOWN FOR !!!!!

I know for sure that many folks agree with you, totally.  However, name pages are only controlled by staff and the automated processes of the database and data on the pages all appear and work the same so users don't have to figure out each page as they go.  The pages are not meant to be manipulated by individuals as if it's a resume.

But, I get just what you mean.  Perhaps they'll adjust the way the system works to improve this and yours could change over time, too.  Either way, your filmography is impressive and it could actually be debatable as to which should be there.  Ask ten folks which they think should be chosen for the four spots and you'll most likely receive ten different responses!

Maybe things will change, but for now, that's the way it "works."

Good luck!
