Jeri Silverman (nm4537749) gender update = lost credits? Staff please follow-up?

Hi,
In mid-August I watched a film with the actress Jeri Silverman in it; I added that film to IMDb and while on her IMDb page I saw she was listed as an actor and not actress on all her films. I checked a few more online and it is clear it is an error, so I did data submissions to correct her gender and change her from to actress on her films.

I did this on the 21st August but so far the gender remains the same but more than half her credits have vanished, even though they appeared to be totally in order apart from the gender.

Can you please look into this and see what the reason is for the deleted credits and, if possible, reinstate them and complete the gender change?

The relevant missing titles and associated submissions were:

The gender change was 140821-231245-393000

Would really appreciate the deleted credits returned - and ideally explained if it was something stupid I did....I feel bad for Jeri since a small attempt to help has seen the removal of the vast majority of her credits.

Thanks for the help,

bob

  • a bit embarrassed that I tried to correct a small problem for Jeri and have ended up making a bigger one - and it is not because she is cute, but just because I feel bad for my data correction clearly messing something up here...

Being honest, it is a little disappointing not to have gotten a single reply to this thread...however I see the titles that were removed have now all been reinstated.

However the primary change I was trying to make (that Jeri is a woman, not a man) still remains undone.

Although it only caused problems the last time, I have put in submission 141008-072324-378000 to change her gender, however since the last time i did this most of her filmography was deleted, I have included screenshots of her current credits below.

I hope this time that this simple correction can be made since it is clearly wrong.

According to the processing times, the oldest outstanding item of the 69 items in 'Name: Gender' is from October 9th.

I submitted 141008-072324-378000 on October 8th to change the listed gender of Jeri Silverman - she remains listed as 'an actor'.

I am conscious that I am on this thread talking to myself, but if I am missing something here can someone point it out? Jeri Silverman is clearly female and this can be seen with either a glance at her character names, her pictures, her demo reel or some of her short films which are online....however attempts to change gender has seen her entire filmography deleted at my first try, and my second try has been rejected.

I'll hold off from trying a third time - I appreciate any help/advice/feedback I get on this issue.....it has been many months now.

Okay,
I guess I'll have to try again.
I've done update 141021-195407-837000 to again simple set the gender of Jeri Silverman as female.

Seriously....what am I missing here....it seems like an open and shut case:

All those I've done recently have taken this much time, too.  Not sure what the big issue is.  I've added pics and they've had female names and female character names...Yeah, they seem to be open and shut...it seems an easy one to quickly get it out of the way, then move on to the ones that are tough to figure out.

So update 141021-195407-83700 (to set the gender of Jeri Silverman as female) has not been approved?

This has now been ongoing since mid-August (update 140821-231245-393000 was the first).....

I've done about 80 data updates of varying sizes since then (one credit through to full credits on a new title) and pretty much all of them are approved or pending....except this one simple change.

I am clearly doing something wrong or missing something....is it possible to get any feedback on this?

Hi Bob, there is a Known issue within the Update form, specifically concerning submitting Gender corrections.  For the time being, a workaround is to submit a credit correction and select the appropriate "Actor" or "Actress" within the form there.

I have forwarded the gender correction for Ms. Silverman to our editorial staff who will take a look as soon as they can.

Thank you for replying Michelle,
I appreciate you passing this on specifically - I have been trying since the 3rd week of August and, as my original post says, I did indeed originally try it on each of her credits....although unfortunately just a few days after I did this, about half her credits vanished until I posted about it here.

Maybe a coincidence but I hope you understand my reluctance to try it that way again....particularly since I had no feedback over almost 2 months of keeping this thread active.

But at long as it gets corrected I am happy!

Michelle,
I just clicked the link to Jeri's page and found this:

As you see all the credits that were listed there some weeks ago have again vanished....including this time the film which I myself added to, directly from the screen credits (140821-230623-550000).

I am now very glad I took a screenshot earlier when all her credits got wiped back in August - it is up higher in the thread but here is how it should look:

Surely all this nonsense cannot be down to just an issue with the gender option on the update form?

It's taken since 21st August till the 30th October....but at last Jeri Silverman has her femininity officially recognized by IMDb:

Also, all of her missing credits have been restored (for the second time!).

Glad it is finally done but will given how much of a long process and house of cards this simple gender change turned out to be, I really doubt I'll fancy taking the risk on that again!
