Simply a follow up to Jen's great post; there were getting to be so many pages in that one I thought it could use a refresh.  Happy to carry on the tradition!

Been binge-watching some 60's/70's/80's/90's employee training videos... what?  Haven't you ever heard of a teenager watching outdated training videos for Blockbuster and Pizza Hut??
Seriously, they're pretty great.  They're both cheesy and informative.  I think I'm more courteous already.
This one is awesome.  The first part had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt and my eyes watered.
The guy sounds like a nervous Chris Farley!

Check out Found Footage Festival; they specialize in showcasing clips of old, cheesy videos.

The Shawshank Redemption re-rated to 9/10 (kicked out from my Best Movies of All Time)
Touch of Evil re-rated to 10/10 (re-ranked from #2 to #1)

I modified my #1 movie of all time, because The Shawshank Redemption, like The Godfather, Citizen Kane, and Pulp Fiction, is a "book answer". It is Volume 1; Chapter 1 movie.

It has a lot of quality, but after 8 months at the top and 1 year being at being a 10/10, I realized that it is not an Absolute Masterpiece among Masterpieces.

The Two Popes (2/10)

So boring, this film probably have the longest screenplay of all time. There 0 actions going on, just talking, talking, talking, all the conversations are about philosophy and moral (so I didn't care even a bit). Then half of these conversations were also in Latin, so I didn't understand a bit.

Plus, none of the acting performances deserved an Oscars nomination.

In Dreams (1999)

Competent, if formulaic, psychological thriller for the first two acts.

Degenerates into tedium and stupidity in the last ~30 minutes.

Overall, dead average.

5/10

Trigger Warning: Narni, skip this one.

Here we have a young Frank Booth on his first airplane trip by jet.

The Danish Girl 2015 - 7/10
The story of a man who feels like he/she is woman and his/her wife helps in the journey. The lead actors do a great job to make you emotional. But, the story drags and does not invoke the same emotion.

Ex Machina 2014 - 7/10
Can AI take over humanity? This movie is around the same topic. It is executed very well. The ending put me off, it looks rushed, predictable and done for the sake of it.

Hi Brij.

I really liked Ex Machina; I thought it was superb sci-fi, done on a fraction of the budget of many Sci-Fi blockbusters.

I think I rated it 8.

I first rated it 8, then changed it to 7 after some rethinking. I liked it for its simplicity and presenting how humane AI can be without much ado. It's just last 10 minutes, that is all.

The Nun (3/10)
 The Directing is mediocre.

The worst screenplay of the decade, by damn far.

 Garbage actors:
  • Taissa Farmiga was 100% hired because she is the sister of Vera.
  • Jonas Bloquet's accent is horrible, and I wonder why they took a Belgian actor to play a French Canadian.

Taissa Farmiga is an excellent young actress.

She has done a number of horror and thriller films and shows that have nothing to do with "The Conjuring" universe or her sister.

From what I have seen from here (The Mule and The Nun), I disagree. I'm gonna give her 2 last shot with 6 years and What They Had, but if I'm disappointed, I'm done.

She has done a number of horror and thriller films and shows that have nothing to do with "The Conjuring" universe or her sister.
I'm tired of watching  "pseudo horror" movies, they need to get a lot scarier or better to impress me.

I just watched it on Netflix, and I also think it deserves an 8/10.

However, the name of the castes, the reference to the authors/poets, and to the constitution were hard to follow without Google.

I loved the cinematography and the acting performances. However, regarding the editing and the directing, I noticed that once during a car scene the director broke the 180-degree rule. It was probably intentional but made the scene hard to follow.

6 Years (4/10)

(Not my genre of movies)
I watched this movie only to see the performance of Taissa Farmiga, but I have nothing really special to say about her performance as she is doing a really basic job.

However, It is a movie that has nothing to tell.
Honestly, even if I wanted to spoil it, I couldn't, because the story is void, the directing is dull., and I wasn't invested in the romance/trouble of Mel and Dan.

The chemistry between Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti is perfect. Cristin gives an awardable noteworthy performance. Seriously. She's damn good in this. Rachel Getting Married (2008) worthy.
