Simply a follow up to Jen's great post; there were getting to be so many pages in that one I thought it could use a refresh. Happy to carry on the tradition!

When Harry Meet Sally... 8/10
WHMS is an open book on problems of adult life related to love and portrays how women and men face it in different ways, this film, like most, states that men do not pay much attention to this and spend their days having forced relationships without any connection or compassion, just thinking about pleasure, while women cry and suffer thinking about loneliness, it is probably a real portrait, however when Harry discovers that he loves Sally he begins to face these problems more mature way and begins to imagine a life without Sally, Harry goes into shock and runs to look for Sally, this is the moment when Harry really matures, in an early scene Harry tells Jess that he is maturing because now he can having a friendship with a woman without sex in between, however, this is when he discovers that the true way to mature is to have a woman and love her without the sex in between, and this is exactly what he feels for Sally.

Terrrordayctal, 3/10. Awfully cheesy and pretty poorly acted, but it knows it and gets purposely comical, so it's not 100% hate-able.
Mimic 2, 1/10. Worst crap I've ever seen. I now have a grudge against the editor and writer. :/

Streets of Fire(1984) 5/10
Westworld ( Tv Series)
With only 3 series I've been so nailed that I just can't stop watching episodes, I go through Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman and now with Westworld, which is one of the best series I've seen in my life with incredible cinematography and scripts better developed and smarter than many movies today.

Bicycle Safety Camp, 1/10. 9/10 for the Sean Thomason and Conor Lastowka Rifftrax duet.
The Shape of Things to Come (1979), 1/10. 10/10 for the veterans of Rifftrax. Thank you for your service. Your sacrifice will be never forgotten.

Black Christmas (2019) - 4/10
Would have been a solid 6 but for the corny & vitriolic "let's hate the heterosexual white male" schtick, which has gotten very old, very quickly.

BTW Abi, just wanna say that I really like how you're not afraid to give a super popular movie a super low rating, like me! Sounds like you have taste and you know yourself, and you're not going to let anyone change that.
Anyways, kudos. :D

I also give Captain Marvel an 8, because it WAS a good movie.
Although I agree with most everyone else that Brie Larson is a <swear word>, I'm not going to diss her movie because I dislike her.

I'm not gonna make 14 posts for the 14 films that I saw from the 14 February to Today (I only listed those that I haven't watch before):
Rating Date Descending:
Some movies were watched very late on the previous day so I rated them the next day.
1- The Great Dictator (1940) 6/10
2- Phantom Thread (2018) 8/10
3- Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (I) (1920) 8/10
4- In the Name of the Father (1993) 7/10
5- Night of Living Dead (1968) 6/10
6- The Terror (1963) 6/10
7- American Sniper (2014) 7/10
8- The Last Man on Earth (1964) 6/10
9- House on Haunted Hill (1959) 7/10
10- The Fault in Our Stars (2014) 7/10
11- The Intouchables (2011) 8/10
12- The Devil's Advocate (1997) 6/10
13- Ford v Ferrari (2019) 6/10
14- The Secret in Their Eyes (2009) 7/10
I know that it can seem impossible to watch 14 movies in 4 days, but on my holidays I'm always catching up for the rest of the week, I didn't include Westworld (1973), Inception (2010), V for Vendetta (2005) because I already watched those ones previously.

Only seen two of them, but I'd rate House on Haunted Hill and Devil's Advocate higher... probably 8 and 9 respectively.

Oh, also, I saw the US version of Secret in their Eyes (c.2015) and it was enough to put a chronic insomniac like me to sleep : 3/10
Perhaps the original (Italian? Spanish?) version was better.

As a horror fan I have genuinely enjoyed many Blumhouse productions.
Some of the more recent ones have been *very* disappointing...
Notably Black Christmas (2019) - 4/10
Cam (2018) - 3/10 [[WTF??]]
The Gallows (2015) - 1/10; unwatchable, did not even bother with the sequel.
I'll be watching Fantasy Island, just because Lucy Hale is there, so no spoilers please :)

It could be, he is 89 years old now. Most actors or directors are already retired at this age.
He said in an interview that he will never retired, but I'm not sure that it will remain true in 2 or 3 years

Countdown (2019) - 5/10
Someone said "Let's take The Ring and all those other demon video/app/website movies, mix them up with Final Destination and make a movie."
Peter Facinelli must have blown through his Twilight millions to have needed to be in this.

During the last days
Sonic The Hedgehog 4/10
It was much less ridiculous than Detective Pikachu, however it still seems like a terrible representation for video game adaptations
The Brothers Bloom(2008) 6/10
Harold and Maude(1971) 8/10
The Believer(2001) 9/10
Incredibly underrated

Watched a YouTube video showing all the differences Lucas put in the newer editions of the old Star Wars... why did I even watch that? I don't even like Star Wars that much! But there I was, watching it like an idiot!
Anyway, I came to the conclusion that the changes made to Star Wars are a lot like a marriage vows - for better or worse. You gotta take the good with the bad. Some of them were necessary, to sharpen the film quality and fill in some gaps where the screen looked depressed and empty. Other times, however, he reverted back to his signature Lucas "CGI is a god!" way of thinking, cramming in way too many womprats and giant lizard butts onto the screen.

That's okay: film fans like to compare versions of different movies, even those which are of less interest to them. Not a huge SW fan myself (even though I have great respect for franchise and Lucas), but I am also interested in alternate version situation around these movies.

Hanna (2011) 8/10
Saoirse Ronan is giving a lot to talk about and really this is one of the few movies I've seen about her, I have most loved it, however it delivers a very different perfomance from what I had seen before, it's rapacious, relentless, just one of the best youth action performances, the film is definitely maintained thanks to it, Hanna is one of those strange action movies that are very well balanced between substance and style, presenting a decent story, easy to follow but captivating from the beginning with an impeccable direction of Joe Wright, most action directors fail to match what Wright did in this film, ironically this filmmaker does not even specialize in the action.

This is one of those war movies that are not only interested in overflowing with action scenes, it also leaves a deep reflection on ethics, morals and how they contrast with the nature of war, presenting two characters whose philosophies are the same of interesting alike.

A truly daring and unconventional movie, Pattinson is unrecognizable here, after watching this movie you will forget about his past in Twilight. Surprisingly it was directed by the Safdie brothers who last year made the highly overrated movie Uncut Gems.

It was like they took Ready Player One mixed with Blade Runner spiced with some dystopian stuff from Hunger Games and Divergent and made a movie. LOL.

Little Women (1994) 9/10
I have never read the book, I am doubting that the new version of Greta Gerwig is better than this incredible film full of human feelings everywhere, it is a strong study of both female and male characters, although a barrier anti men has formed around this film, men fleeing from this movie for the title, the story that really focuses more on the problems of female life so it is a story with which women connect faster than men, but if you are free from prejudices and you want to enjoy a great story and impeccable artistic decoration you will enjoy this.
