Are there movies which you watch regularly during christmas season? Do you have a favorite christmas movie?
And since we have so different people from all over the world, do you have any other weird/interesting christmas traditions?

My family always gathers to see seasonal movies. We’ve gone through some of the classics but in most cases, Home Alone is part of the routine. It’s so deeply entrenched that it must be my no. 1 favorite. Even as an adult, it’s a delight because now you know who Joe Pesci is. Honestly, he’s almost as intimidating as in Goodfellas (and in Goodfellas, he’s almost as funny as in Home Alone).
A mildly weird fact is that we exchange presents late on Christmas Eve already. Speaking of which, Santa would not come to us when I was little. Instead, we were told that the Christkind (“little Christ child”) brought us presents. It is usually depicted as an angelic, blonde female. Go figure.
Most children in my country grow up with Santa nowadays. Bah! Humbug!
However, we were very aware of St. Nicholas, the saint upon whom Santa is based. Old Nick traditionally hands out presents on 6th December already, so we were doubly bestowed actually. Much like Santa, St. Nicholas carries a big bag with him, launches threats at naughty children, and gives everyone a present anyway.
My family keeps a Polish tradition. We arrange one surplus plate for dinner, in case someone needy or lonely comes by. However, that hasn’t happened yet.

I love the story of the "Christkind," and the angelic blonde female: the blonde part wasn't surprising and pretty funny but the fact that it's usually depicted as female is really surprising and interesting. I love the word, "Christkind."

The Christkind is a little like Peter Pan. I guess it is often played by females to stress its tenderness.

But now I'm confused... I do want to link this into the cycle of my IMDb lists where all aspects of Christmas are covered. But It is a two-minutes-animation part of the 1-hour episode in the "MADtv" Reality-TV-Series, aired 12-16-1995 (Season 01 Episode 09). Is there a way to link to the animation part separatly?
