Dan, California Death Index and SSDI indicate May 28 is the correct day of birth.

Thanks for the information LuvsToResearch. It looks like someone will have to correct the recent change. MayorDefacto discovered that it was originally May 28.

MayorDefacto, a very knowledgeable IMDb user, provided this insight into what is happening:
Apparently the switch from 28 May to 23 May was a very recent one. Internet Archive, https://web.archive.org/web/20140427154023/www.imdb.com/name/nm0668361 /, shows it as May 28 as of 27 April. In fact it's currently listed that way on the reference view page, imdb.com/name/nm0668361/reference. Shown here, i.imgur.com/3pFkoq7.jpg, in case it gets updated this afternoon.

Apparently, the today's birthday routine isn't connected to the rapid publish system.
