someone generously  informed me of how to request a status update on this forum, i followed it i did it right and just want to make sure that the screen shots suffice or do i also need a letter from the production company verifying i wasnt part of the production?

a friend of mine who just informed me she had her credit deleted by presenting screen shots and a letter was the most effective and legit way so, would love to know.

maybe screen shots wont suffice to take away the credit because i could've been na extra on the project, which i wasnt, so i would be granted a uncredited sign, but to avoid this would a letter verify?

Thank you for Reading this.

An actor who worked on a project is not automatically eligible for an IMDb credit unless they receive an on-screen credit. As the FAQ I worked on a film but did not receive a screen credit. Can I be listed in the database? states in point 6 :
For cast/acting appearances, you must be identifiable and featured on-screen in the final released cut of the film. In other words, it's not enough to have worked on a production: your scenes must be included in the final cut and it must be possible to easily identify your appearance (i.e. background work as a crowd member or a similar role where it's impossible to recognize the subject are not eligible). If you ended up on the cutting room floor, you are not eligible to be listed. We may ask you to supply evidence of this, so you should be prepared to provide photos/stills/screen grabs to verify that you are featured in the film.
For this reason, IMDb is not likely to just add an (uncredited) attribute unless they have reason to believe that you were seen on-screen. (It would be different for crew, as this point does not apply there.)

ok i have posted two other threads requesting a check on two submissions but got no replies here.

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/staff-could-you-guys-check-the-status-of-submission-140917-0...

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/staff-please-check-status-of-submission-140917-005401-323000

and you didnt answer my question in fact my question was specific enough.

I was NOT part of these productions in no way shape or form,  contacted the production companies and they said they are happy to write a letter stating my name was not involved in it, so again i ask and hopefully someone can give me a straght answer. these two threads i posted was due to instructons from someone else, how come nobody responded?

I notice staff responding to a lot of people yet no response for myside, just wanted to check the status of my stuff, since everyone here states evry clearly that screen shots sometimes do not suffice to remove the credit, very simple then a letter suffices from production stating that the person was not involved.

so again i ask, how can i get a response involving the above?

Staff comes by every now and then, usually business hours, US Pacific time. They do not monitor the board 24/7. Again, you have to wait.

Since you started posting these, late in the day, to night time, yesterday, staff has not replied to anything.

Further, you got replies from staff asking you to do this via the help desk. So, I don't know why you're still posting here in the first place.

Because someone here, advised me to use the data verification form yet they explained to me it takes a long time, they equally pasted link exemples of other people requesting for status check on submissions and staff responded to them letting them know, so they advised me to do the same. I have also contacted help desk yet i was informed it takes them a long time, so the most rapid way i was told by a user here its to do the below.

i was sent a message on board with this:

Staff:  Please check status of submission xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx" and a body explaining, "I submitted (the number) a request to (describe the edit needed) and would like to check on the status.  I have added a screen shot of the name in the credits (then upload an image)."

That was me. I have suggested about a dozen times or more to contact the help desk.

You ignored that and, though I'd already described the options, asked specifically what other ways are there. So I answered.

The last post to staff you made was done at 4 AM their time. They usually haven't gotten up and had their coffee yet at that time. You should learn that with IMDb, you have to have patience. They have a relatively small staff and millions of customers. You are not their one and only priority and the problems on your page were caused by you and your representative. So don't expect them to too happy they're now needing to fix the damages caused by you and yours.

Hello Mannie,

It was bluesmanSF that suggested
"What I normally do is, submit the request to correct the entry.  If 3 or 4 weeks has passed and no change is appearing, I post the submission ID on this board with a title like, "Staff:  Please check status of submission xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx" and a body explaining, "I submitted (the number) a request to (describe the edit needed) and would like to check on the status.  I have added a screen shot of the name in the credits (then upload an image)."

But please note, he said if 3 to 4 weeks have passed. I believe it's only been a matter of one or two days since you submitted your request. No?  I know you're anxious to get these corrected but please remember there are tens of thousands of people, in this industry making requests any given week. It takes time to work through them as they mostly work from oldest to newest (first submitted, first served).
Have patience- they will get to your request as soon as they can.

Hang in there..

ETA Sorry bluesmanSF I think we were writing at the same time. ;)

blueman, I have already contacted help desk, just assumed doing it here would be faster but anyways got it, thanks.

Pikacu once again thank you for being so delicate and understandable, cannot thank you enough for being so diplomatic and not aggressive nor negative. appreciate how friendly and compassionate you are.

I feel absolutely horrible for what happened reason why im also contacting the production companies requesting a letter clarifying the situation bcause i could not feel worse for what happened. truly grateful for once again being such a top notch human.

it was my mistake, anyways will wait and see. cheers to you with all grace.
