We are limited to 999 (or 1,000?) lists on our profile. As someone who makes polls (and has nearly 400 published) keeping the number of lists under that that threshold is very tough. Is it possible to allow more lists per person?

Not sure where you are looking - I have 991 lists. When I try to make one more than 999 I get the error: There was a problem creating this list. Please try again. See the attached image.

Sorry, forgot to say, I am not the only person to come across this issue. There are a few people on the poll board who have had the same issue. Dan_Dassow can vouch for this.

Yes. I have created more than 1000 lists. But at any one time a person can only have 999 saved lists. In order to make more after I reached that 999 threshold, I have deleted some off my list. See the screen grab I attached.

I think I was the first to pinpoint that problem two or three months ago in the (soon-to-disappear) poll board and I confirm that you can't get to 1000 lists.
When you create the 1000th list and click on "Start Listing" you get the following message, written in bold red "There was a problem creating this list. Please try again"
It appears that, technically, no one can have more than 1000 lists, check my list of lists, I only have 999.

Claire, just to clarify (ha!), I have deleted several lists so that I can continue to make new ones. But I'd prefer not to have to do that. And at some there will be no superfluous lists I can be able to delete, at which point I really NOT be able to make any new lists. Additionally, I have already spent several hours identifying lists that could be deleted.

Claire, that was why I posted the problem in the first place. This entire thread was trying to be able to have more than 999 lists.

When I reached the limit for the first time, I was lucky to have like 40-50 lists that were unfinished, some polls concept I didn't push further or lists that had no reason to be kept. But a few weeks later, I had the same problem, I still could get rid of 10-15 lists. Now, whenever that happens, there are only 1 or 2 removable lists. Basically, i'm only working on the suggestions that didn't go live before.
So that's a real problem.

Both Sdk ElMaruecan (ElMaruecan82) and Jen (yrnej) are two of the most prolific poll authors with 335 and 397 live polls and 728,920 and 600,381 votes respectively. Polls are derived from lists. Live polls cannot be updated unless the list upon which this list is created is retained.
Limiting the number of lists for a user to 999 is already adversely affecting the IMDb polls.
