My homer page only shows these three features:
1.The 3 trailer selections
2.TV Tuesday: Amison Pilot season
3.News Desk
I no longer get "Born Today" "Editor's Pick" "Quote of the Day" or anything else below the "News Desk" selection.
I have tried three different browsers (IE, Chrone & Mozilla Firefox) and they all show just the three features above.
How can I get my home page back to where it shows everything?

My homer page only shows these three features:
1.The 3 trailer selections
2.TV Tuesday: Amison Pilot season
3.News Desk
1. Featured trailers
2. IMDb and LoveFilm Present: New This Week - a regional setting I assume
3. News Desk - seems very focused on Angelina Jolie's breasts (and not for the first time, I'll warrant)
4. IMDb Snapshot - Latest Photos and Galleries
5. Born Today
6. Editor's Spotlight
7. Did You Know?
8. Try the IMDb Quiz!
One of them is clearly a regional feature (as I'm in the UK) but everything else seems quite standard and I'd have thought most people should be seeing it. It sounds like the page has choked or stopped loading - do you get the standard IMDB footer, like Recently Viewed, some links, copyright and Amazon affiliate links?
Having picked over the home page (which I rarely used), it strikes me it'd be interesting to allow people to customise the home page - add remove panels and drag them around to the places you want them. It'd make the page more flexible and might give IMDB some ideas about what people want on the front page, which could lead to some tweaking of the default layout.

I don't buy Dan Dassow's explaination. Obviously you and Tupac Amaru get more than i do and so to quite a few people that I spoke with at Film General.

If there is no copyright information or Amazon affiliate links at the bottom of the page, then it is likely the page is stopping loading for some reason. Try:
* A hard refresh - CTRL+F5
* Updating plugins like the Flash player

The problem with just the 3 features I mentioned has been going on for over 2 months. At first I though IMDB had simply reformated the page just like Dan Dassow said and although I missed the remaining features I figured i would just have to get used to it since there was really nothing i could do. Then one day this week someone mentioned one of the birthdays on the home page in a thread at Film General and that is when i realized that others were still getting all of the home page features and I was not. I asked at FG if anyone knew how to get the normal home page back but I did not get a satisfactory answer so that is when i posted here since IMDB has disabled new posts at the "Help" board.

I don't recall hearing a similar problem being reported before so this looks like a local issue (i.e. something to do with your browser or setup).
Can you please confirm what is your geographical location (e.g. are you in the US or somewhere else?) and whether you are logged into your account or are browsing the page without being logged in? Also: do you have Javascript enabled in your browser?

I live in the state of Georgia in the USA.
I always browse IMDB logged into my account.
Yes I have Javascript enabled in my browser.
I have tried Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and IE and all are running javascript and all give me the limited features I spoke of in my OP.
I don't know what happened but one day my home page was normal and I got all of the features and then the next day I got the limited home page with just the 3 features and that is all I have gotten since then (for over 2 months).

Have you tried from the house of a friend or family member?

I tried on my roommate's computer and he gets the entire home page, not the limited one like i get.
This is really strange since we share the same cable connection.

Looking through the code of the main page I see that while a lot of it is hardcoded into the page, the elements that you are missing are loaded in by JavaScript. So the problem seems to be coming from that direction.
Unless you've specifically gone into your settings on each browser and disabled JavaScript (worth checking just in case - in Firefox it is under Tools >> Content) then something else is interfering with it. In Firefox try this:

I want to thank everybody that tried to help me with this problem.
Things are not as rosy as I thought. Now the home page is right back to displaying only the 3 features I mentioned in my OP. I don't know why it stopped displaying all the features and reverted back to just the three.

Also get a gangway for your plugs with surge protection - that should stop the weather from nuking your computer ;)

Since you will be reading this I would like to ask you something that does not pertain to IMDB. How do I make hyper-links open in a new window, not a new tab, but a new window without having to right click and select "open in a new window"? I want to lock opening in a new window so I don't have to keep choosing it with the right click. I get a lot of links in my e-mails that I access and it becomes a pain to have to choose via right click. I had done this with my last computer but I can't remember where to go to do this. I am running Windows 7.
I rarely open new tabs. I like new windows. It is what I am used to.

What good is a page if it changes every time changes have to be made and why only the home page and why only IMDB? It makes no sense.
The problem is that those panels use JavaScript to load in content, presumably different content depending on where you are. There is some combination of settings or plugins that is stopping this JavaScript from working on your computer. As there aren't any other reports of this issue, it seems to be either rare or unique to you (although as there isn't an obvious problem it is possible that a lot of people don't know they are having issues), which makes troubleshooting it tricky. Now I don't think it is a good idea to have your main page relying on JavaScript to load content, as there may be browser-based issues and some people disable it (more a throwback to the early days of the Web than any great need these days, even if it is a small security hole), but it doesn't itself seem to be broken.
I've run the JavaScript debugger in FF and it seems to all be working OK.
How do I make hyper-links open in a new window, not a new tab,
In Firefox go to Options >> Tabs and deselect the first option (which is what makes new windows open in new tabs instead).

Would you tell me how to allow new windows instead of new tabs using Internet Explorer? The options are different than Firefox and I am not sure which one to select/deselect. I should have told you in the beginning what browser I was using.

It is funny but it seems that whenever I have a problem something triggers an association in my brain so I can correct things or I correct things by sheer luck and really don't even know how I fixed the problem. This of course causes problem in the future if it the same thing ever happens again because since it was solved by accident I have no idea what I did to correct the problem.
Computers are fun but when things don't go the way you want them to it can drive you up the wall.

I'd recommend using any other browser but IE as it is a big hole in your web security. I'm unpaid tech support for family and friends and one of the first things I do is install FF and Chrome, then give them a talk about never using IE.

Thank you for your advise but please answer my question about the tab/window situation in IE.
I want to thank you again for hanging in here with me when you did not have to offer your help.

As to your question. I am not 100% sure, but my best guess would be:
* Options (cog top right)
* General tab - should be the default one
* Tabs >> Change how webpages are displayed in tabs >> Settings
* Untick Enable Tabbed Browsing (which should grey out all the other options)
* Restart IE.
That should work, but, if that doesn't, tick Enable Tabbed Browsing and where it says "When a new tab is opened, open:" change the option to "A blank page".

I honestly think AdMuncher was the problem with the home page. I have gone to/left/returned to IMDB several times today and the full page loads each time. Thank goodness that trauma has been resolved. LOL
I believe "Untick Enable Tabbed Browsing (which should grey out all the other options) has resolved my tab/window problem. It worked while I was in my e-mail reading your post but there are several other places I need to check before I can truly say for sure. Either way I will let you know.

Now if I can resolve my "Save Picture" problems I think most of my irritants will be over. Every time I save a photo I have to designate where I want it saved. From what I understand when you save something it is suppose to open in the location where you last saved something but it won't. I have to keep telling it where to save it. This gets very tiresome.
