Frankenstein's Monster celebrated it's 200th anniversary of the birth of the horror icon on June 16, 2016. Mary Shelley while summering in Lake Geneva, Switzerland was part of a writer's group. Lord Byron issued a challenge to each to write a ghost story to tell the others for fun. She conceived of the character and story, during a waking dream in the early hours of June 16, 1816. Javier Bardem is next slated to pay homage to the character in Bride of Frankenstein, the second film in Universal's "Dark Universe" franchise.

Which Frankenstein's Monster movie portrayal do you think is the best and most fitting tribute to Mary Shelley's original?

Bill Condon’s ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ Assembles A Production Team – When Will It Shoot?

In October, it was reported that Universal pulled Bride of Frankenstein, the second film in Universal's "Dark Universe" franchise, from their release slate due to delays and that Gal Gadot was eyed to replace Angelina Jolie as the Bride while pre-production was paused. Jolie seemingly had chosen to make Maleficent 2 instead, which we’ve reported is expected to start this April.

Oscar-Winner Javier Bardem (as Frankenstein's monster) is still set to star and Bill Condon (Beauty and The Beast) to direct but it’s currently up-in-the-air when it will begin it’s London production. However, we’ve learned that they’ve assembled the production team in the meantime and suggests the wheels are back in motion.
